Good morning to all my customers!

Just a little update as I haven’t been active on my page for a very long time now . I have been incredibly busy with the grooming now we’re in Spring everybody is wanting their summer cuts ☀️

I’m completely booked up for the whole of June with limited appointments available from early July so I deeply encourage all my regulars to book in when you collect your dogs from me as you will miss out and I can’t just squeeze you in after ‘office hours’ like I used to at the old Deal salon due to restricted working hours at my current salon.

I am temporarily closing my books to new customers due to the limited availability I do have , if you’re still interested in booking with me please contact me mid July and I can accommodate you 😊

PLEASE READ !

In the last week I have had 3 no shows not turn up to their booked appointments, resulting in my small business losing £120. That is what my salon rent cost for the week which I have had to pay out from my profit that week , meaning £120 worth of my own personal bills have gone without being paid.

We are all human which I really do understand but please just drop me a message so I expect you not to turn up. I can put your appointment time to use elsewhere.

I have researched into booking systems which take upfront deposits to secure bookings however it takes a percentage per payment resulting in another overhead for me to consider. If I have to go down this route I will have no choice but to increase groom costs to cover this which I really do not want to do as I’m happy with my pricing and I’m aware how expensive life is already.

To all my followers new and old, I thought I’d introduce myself and share a short snippet of my journey so far..

Hi 👋🏽 I’m Jade, I’m 21 years old and have been grooming from the age of 16. When I finished school I went on to follow my passion of becoming a dog groomer . I qualified in February 2019 and went on to start business in partnership with a local pet service company.

I took the plunge in October 2019 to go solo and take on a rented shop based in Deal, which is when Dolly’s Dog Parlour was made. My client base grew way faster than I had ever imagined and every day was a total success. I couldn’t have been more prouder of 17 year old me for starting and maintaining a business.

Fast forward two years October 2021, I decided to move on from running Dolly’s at a rented property in hopes of eliminating overhead expenses and move into an owned property, all during the pandemic. Things did not go planned the way I had hoped which turned into taking employment in jobs I weren’t particularly happy in, which made me realise being with the dogs was my place to be.

November 2023 an opportunity was offered my way to take on a pay as you go salon, meaning my overheads were slashed in half and I could truly focus on all my customers and the grooms. I am extremely grateful my first 2 months have been busy and I am back in a job I absolutely love.

So, THANK YOU for the continued support to all my customers and a warm welcome to the future furries I am yet to meet

Your short haired breeds can also get involved and have a spa day..

Buster & Pierre had a bath and blowdry yesterday and went home feeling super soft to touch and smelling lush. These double coated breeds really do benefit from a blowdry treatment to remove any shedding undercoat.

Thank you to Zoë at Pawsome Pet Services for choosing me as Roos first groomer.

Roo came to Zoë with an unknown skin issue which is being treated and has healed drastically over the last couple of weeks. We both agreed to not clip any part of Roo just yet as her skin is still healing and to instead , scissor any long wispy bits. Roo was washed in a natural soft shampoo for sensitive skin to retain her coats natural oils

I have some extremely exciting news to share with you all..

As you all know I closed the business in October 2021 to become employed in hopes to set up and work from a home environment to help cut down on large overheads involved with running a small business in a shop. It has taken me two whole years to source the right environment for me to comfortably work in and to have the stability there to support me whilst owning a business . I have been given the opportunity to rent a salon four days a week from a fellow dog groomer, the lovely Angela at Dapper dogs of Deal based in Walmer. We will remain as two separate businesses with our own set of clients, just working from the same location on different days.

My City and Guilds qualification remains valid and I have been keeping up with my grooming skills over the last two years maintaining Dolly and family dogs grooms.

The diary is now officially open to bookings from the 20th November , fully equipped and experienced to cater all breeds and sizes! I can’t wait to get stuck in, doing something I love and to get the business thriving once again.

Dear customers,

I regret to inform you as of the 14th October Dolly’s Dog Parlour will no longer be trading. I have taken an employed role at a veterinary practice with amazing opportunities and benefits.

The last two years I absolutely cannot thank everybody enough for their custom and recommendations as there really has never been a quiet day at the salon even up to this very day.

The main reason for giving the business up is because I’ve been thinking about my future and what’s best for myself. The salon is great and always has been, however Its a bitter sweet situation , it’s the right place but the wrong time unfortunately. I’m certainly going to miss having the salon and most of all , miss all my clients as you all really have been so supportive.

I will be working up to the 13th October any dogs booked in after that will unfortunately be cancelled. Any double coated breeds labradors , border collies , pugs , bulldogs etc will have to be cancelled mainly due to not having suitable products available and not wanting to restock for obvious reasons.Which means any appointments available will go to the dogs that need haircuts. Dog groomers are very busy currently in the lead up to Christmas so I want to fit in as many dogs as I can so hopefully they don’t go without.

I have a handful of lovely, qualified dog groomers I can recommend to you all, however please remember you may have to wait a little longer than expected as all good groomers are busy ❤️
