Have you ever wondered what happens when extreme heat (for the UK) hits? If temperatures go above 25° I will not take a dog out in the heat.
Between 22-24° I will seek alternative activities like scent work and seek out shade and water sources whilst keeping a careful eye on your fur family members. Studies have shown that temperatures can affect many dogs from 20° (as per last years blog).
With one client, myself and the client have agreed to postpone due to the temperatures.
Yesterday morning, I took a little video at 10am by then it had reached 24°.
Alfie and I started our walk around 9.40am by 10.15am we were back at the car mooching in the shade whilst water (and treat) reserves were being increased.

At Animals For Life solo dog walks involve freedom and lots of fun playing.
Thank you to Hannah Fuller my lovely sister for taking this short video earlier this week.

Alfie has been learning a new command over the past few weeks. He is really starting to grasp the link between the command 'Find' and his action of sniffing out his treat. This command is where all the sniffer dogs and search and rescue dogs start off. The association is then built up between the smell of the item or person and finding the item or person.
Alfie and I are just doing this for fun, though, but he sure seems to enjoy the game!

Who remembers my very first Night Before Christmas remake?
Let me take you back as you listen once more.
This lovely boy Alfie has had so much fun with lots of running around that he is well and truly ready for a nap!

A couple of weeks ago I popped back in on the lovely boy that is Pickle. Here in the video he is enjoying some play time. This is technically a toy tool to enable better recall and focus for dogs coming into contact with reactivity issues. This time it was just a supervised toy.
Animals For Life are able to offer a discount code at the checkout for all things #Tug-e-nuff. I recommend that they be used for their ultimate tool training purpose.

It was a cold and wet walk with the lovely Alfie this morning. I took this video as I was amazed by the waves but also mindful that they are extremely powerful, causing big drops in the sand. You can hear the connection I've formed with this boy.

It's that time of year again. This might be similar to last year but it has some changes too!
This wonderful poem re-worded by myself.
Merry Christmas to all, May it be peaceful and full of joy.
Thank you from me at Animals For Life, I would not be here without your support.

I've been regularly walking the lovely Maggie and Pablo. For the past few walks Pablo has been very excited to see me! This is a testimonial via dog body language. This morning I managed to record it. 🐕
Enjoy ☺️

It's been a busy weekend of dogs! I love it and love each dog I come to meet. I've been dog sitting and dog visiting five dogs, all with various needs.
Here's a video of two of them. You'll recognise them as the loving Pebbles and Stormy. They had a great day out and about at a coffee/cake raffle for Mind My Art. They had such an enriching time that for the rest of the afternoon they slept with barely a noise coming from them!
Enjoy your Sunday afternoon!
