We haven't posted in a while, our time had to be prioritised to build up the business and spend plenty of time with all of our clients and pets seen so far.
This week has been excelent and we have had lovely animals feeling comfortable in the quietness of our van while we get to know them. Little tortoise was struggling to lay her eggs but she is feeling better now. Thank you to all the amazing clients we have visited so far.

Rabbits will typically produce up to 300 droppings a day (๐Ÿ˜ฑ), which are large, round, and golden brown. They are mostly made up of digested hay and grass.
Sometimes, their droppings can reduce in size, amount or become darker - this is a sign there is a problem.
This could be that they are not eating the correct ratio of hay to vegetables and pellets - it should be 85% hay or grass, 10% leafy greens and 5% complete pellets.
If they are reluctant to eat, or stop eating completely, they need to be seen straight away. Rabbits need to continually eat to promote gut motility - if they stop eating it can quickly become potentially fatal.

We recommend all rabbits should be vaccinated against infectious diseases to protect them. Below are the diseases we vaccinate against every year ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ’‰
โ€ข Myxomatosis
โ€ข Viral haemorrhagic disease (2 strains)
But rabbits can also suffer from other diseases, such as E. cuniculi, skin and fur parasites, Pasturella, Bordatella and Pseudomonas.
This list is not comprehensive, and rabbits can be afflicted with other illnesses. It's always best to get them checked out if you're concerned. ๐Ÿฉบ

April is certainly a busy month - , , and it's also !
Heartworms, otherwise known as Dirofilaria immitis, are a parasitic roundworm that can infect your dogs and cats (and ferrets!). It is zoonotic, which means it can spread to humans, too.
It is spread via a 'host', the mosquito ๐ŸฆŸ- even in this country we have around 30 species of mosquitos!
Adult heartworms live in the pulmonary arteries, as well as the heart, and cause major health effects.
Prevention is always better than cure, so it's always worth regularly worming your pet. Contact us on PetsApp for more information on the best worming treatment for your pet ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฉบ

Not only is April , but it's also our ! ๐Ÿฐ
Rabbits can be tricky pets to look after... they require a diet of around 85% hay or grass for healthy guts and teeth ๐Ÿฆท (their teeth grow continually, so the chewing motion wears them down!). The rest of their diet should be made up of fruit, vegetables and complete rabbit pellets.
They require a lot of space to move around and be able to act as they naturally should - at least 2 x 3 metres!
Rabbits should always be kept in pairs, as they are very sociable creatures! ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ

It's !
Ticks usually most active between March and November, although they can be found all year round. Ticks generally live in wooded areas and long grass. ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒณ
Ticks transmit a number of diseases in the UK, including Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis and Babesiosis.
The best way to prevent ticks in pets is to regularly treat them with a flea and tick treatment - such as Simparica for dogs, or Credelio for cats.
You should also regularly check your pet for ticks, daily during the active season, and after every walk.
Remember to remove ticks using a special tick remover tool only!

Yellow Dogs UK raise awareness of anxious dogs, and those dogs that need space.
You may see some dogs with a yellow jacket or lead that says 'I Need Space', or even a yellow ribbon. Yellow Dogs UK are working tirelessly to make this a recognised campaign, to make walking dogs a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone.
