Unlike us, pets have no understanding that hot weather can be harmful. We control their environment, their access to water and their exercise, and they can’t speak up if they start feeling unwell. Heat stroke can rapidly progress and, even with veterinary treatment, is often fatal. ❗💦❗☀

Sadly we have had a deceased Small Black Female - Domestic Short Hair handed in to us. We think she is roughly 5/6 years old. Yellow eyes. Unfortunately no other distinct markings. She has a microchip but the details are not registered.
She was found by the big roundabout on the A40.
Please contact reception if you think she may belong to you.

Heat stress starts as a reversible condition, but if not managed it will develop to heat stroke, which is extremely dangerous. If your pet shows any of these signs, they should be moved to a cool area and offered plenty of water to drink.

Deafness is rising in the UK; by 2035, it is estimated that one in five British people (over 15 million) will experience hearing loss. Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a national charity that trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds like the smoke alarm, alarm clock and even a baby’s cry. Their burgundy coats also act as a visual reminder to the public when they are out and about that their partner is deaf.
