Finding forever families who will cherish their adopted hounds forever. Surrounded by woodland and rolling hillsides it really is heaven for our rescue hounds.

Celia Cross Greyhound Trust became a registered Charity in 1993, following a move to Sun Valley Farm, which is our home today. Sun Valley is based in outer Guildford on approximately 12 acres of stunning Surrey Hills countryside. The kennels boast a fully enclosed 6 acre field where the dogs are exercised multiple times a day, as well as luxury kennels with under bed heating, soft fluffy duvets an

d access to their own outside run! Dogs are assessed on arrival and their lives put back together. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers help many a traumatised hound adjust to a new and loving environment. We aim to heal not only physical wounds- some from the track and others that indicate prolonged abuse- but the emotional wounds that are not always immediately obvious. Each dog who comes through our gates is allowed to settle in at their own pace, and if they wish, will be kennelled with another dog so they can socialise, snuggle up and play just as dogs should. We work hard to make sure our dogs are happy, spoiled rotten and we strive to create a homely family feel in our kennels for our residents until they are ready to be placed into the right home. Sun Valley is in the safe hands of Jane Thompson. Jane has dedicated her life to dogs, working with them for over 30 years. She is supported by a board of fellow trustees, fabulous Kennel staff and an extensive team of valued volunteers.

I have a lovely happy tail to tell you all. Our gorgeous Charlie has left us for his new happy ever after with Linda and her Son Benj. We know that gorgeous Charlie who will now be known as Oakley is going to have such a fabulous life to look forward to. This handsome boy is so full of love and fun, so we expect that he will give his family many years of laughter and cuddles.

Foxy’s lucky new family consist of Kevin, Kate, Beth, Dylan Bobby and new fur sister Bonnie. We know that gorgeous Foxy is going to have the most wonderful life to look forward to and early reports are that she is settling in wonderfully.

🇬🇧Picnic in the Paddock 🇬🇧
Thank you to everyone who came and joined us today in the paddock despite the dull and chilly weather. We had a lovely few hours of fabulous hound and human company. The weather was kind enough to stay dry, but it was a tad chillier than we had hoped for on the last official day of Summer.
Thank you to everyone who worked really hard making the day run smoothly. Special thanks goes to Maggie, Jan, Carol & Wendy for all their help and also to our Grace and the volunteer dog walkers who all kept the resident dogs entertained and mailing sure they also had a lovely day, many of them came out to socialise in the paddock too.
Despite the dull cold weather, the company as always was lovely and warm with so many gorgeous hounds to coo over. It is always so lovely to see so many of our ex residents come back and visit as well as meeting new hounds for the first time.
We also managed to raise a fabulous £580 for the dogs.

Rehabilitation is one of our specialties here at Sun Valley and we thankfully have a good track record of success, and we are proud and confident to say we pull out all the stops to help our dogs get back on their feet. What a lovely few hours we had today for our Picnic in the paddock. The weather was just perfect for us. It was so lovely to see so many friends and also to meet so many new friends that visited us for the first time. It was a wonderful few hours of good company. As always all the dogs were perfectly behaved. The kennel dogs are all pooped out and it was so lovely for many of you that joined us today to get to meet Clyde, Dougal and many of the others. As always a huge thanks goes to everyone who made the day such a success. The team worked so hard and as always made the day run smoothly. Everyone was so generous today and despite it not being a full on mega fundraiser, but, more of a let’s get together, I’ve missed you all. I’ve just counted up a WHOPPING £2782.75 😱😱 Thank you so much for all your generosity. It really was so lovely to see so many of you. See you all again soon. Jane xx

A little evening mooch for Dougie on the lawn this evening. He couldn’t work out what the tractor was doing. He’s doing really well and being the best patient. We are back off to vets tomorrow for dressing change and wound clean under sedation. I’ve just given him a nice late dinner treat as he is NOT going to be happy with no breakfast again!!!
