Meet Matthew 😍 a little bull calf who is being bottle fed as his mummy is a bit poorly 🍼🍼💙
A late calving cow and her calf being turned out this morning with the main herd. Little Newstead Bridgette meeting her daddy for the first time 🥰
Good morning everyone, a lovely sunny morning for you to meet our fattening steers ☀️
We have decided to do a few videos of our herd for those of you who are interested. Here is my favourite girl for you to meet 🥰
The yearlings also turned out today on lovely spring grass ☘️
The bulling heifers very happy to be turned out this morning
Another calf this afternoon. After a tricky couple of hours of the cow showing no interest in her newborn calf, her motherly instinct has kicked in and they’re both doing well 🥰
The bealing cow soon forgets her calf but it was a noisy night here last night having spent a busy afternoon yesterday weaning the calves. Wormed and boluses administered to all the adults for the coming winter. Just the yearlings to bring in now at some point during the next month. Usher is clearly wondering what all the noise is about!
Earlier this week the main herd caused some chaos, made their own fun and broke out of the field. Having had a wonderful time along both sides of the riverbank, we decided to end their fun and bring them in early for the winter. After a few phone calls to gather extra pairs of hands, we drove them home across several fields and into the back of our yard with all 50 cows, calves and bull complying nicely with our plan. Thank you to all those who turned up at such short notice, complete with their good humour, to help us.....it was very much appreciated!
