Alf (7 years old) is a lovely big brindle boy with very distinctive markings, he's certainly a looker! Due to his size and bouncy nature he would ideally suit an adults only and pet free home. He is full of energy and loves his walks, he absolutely loves having a fuss made of him and particularly likes tummy tickles

We still have the beautiful here at Cumbria Greyhound Trust looking for his forever home!

He’s the most beautiful boy, he has a lush black coat with unique white markings on his paws, nose and tip of his tail. He does have the personality to match, he has plenty of sass and is a handful on the lead so he would be looking for a home with no young children. He's very loving and loves having his ears tickled and a treat in his mouth. He'd be fine with other larger dogs, but not smaller ones or cats

The first stage is always a home assessment, which can be done in person or virtually depending on where you live

Just added to the Cumbria Greyhound Trust website -

Quo Vadis is a beautiful brindle 4 year old boy who has a lovely stature. He's a big boy at 35kg but not lairy with it, he's definitely on the quieter side with a very loving nature. He's fantastic on the lead and very inquisitive with other breeds of dog on his walks, he would ideally be looking a home where he's either the only dog or with one other larger hound, he's not great with smaller dogs/animals. Due to his size he'd only be suitable for families with children of teenage age or older

We were delighted this weekend to complete the paperwork for the homing of to Marion in Holmrook via Cumbria Greyhound Trust

Marion was a previous adopter who was looking for a new pet following the loss of her last hound, and she and Sadie hit it off right away. As always there was a trial period which went swimmingly and the paperwork was completed this week

Light is a gorgeous 4 year old quiet little girl who loves being loved and has lots to give back. She has a quiet nature, confident in herself but happy to let others push to the front. She's ambivalent to other dogs but really good with children, she'd be great in any home setup and is ready to look for her new home!

We were delighted to welcome Association of Dogs & Cats Homes and their assessor Caroline Johnson of Oak Tree Animals' Charity on Friday for a tour of the kennels, as part of the Greyhound Trust membership of the ADCH, whose aim is to raise welfare standards across the whole of the animal homing sector 👏🏻👏🏻

We completed the adoption today at Cumbria Greyhound Trust of to one of our past adopters in Barrow in Furness!

Betty left us on trial a couple of weeks ago to join Beverley and Mike who had lost their previous greyhound last year

Things obviously went well & we were delighted to complete the paperwork today ❤️

One of six sisters that have been with us, Rush has seen them all go and now finds it her turn to look for her forever home! She's a beautiful black girl with a super soft coat Her quirk is that she absolutely hates winter & the cold, so if you are a walker in cold temperatures she's probably not for you! She's a relaxed girl who has enthusiasm for most things, she's good with other dogs although not necessarily small breeds or cats & good with children

Just days after completing the paperwork for her sister , we were delighted to complete the adoption this week for at Cumbria Greyhound Trust

She left us a few weeks ago with Joan and her daughters, and has settled in brilliantly, completing her trial this week when the paperwork was lodged!

What a beautiful boy he is, a 4 year old big handsome dog with lovely white and black markings. He has bundles of energy, he loves his walks and exploring new things, he has plenty of pulling power but doesn't overuse it. He's good with other dogs, has a lovely soft coat and is looking for an experienced dog owner who can give him a great home. He would be great with older children and a doggy companion but not cats or other small animals

A great Sunday post as we completed another homing at Cumbria Greyhound Trust this week, with having a successful trial with Ben in Annan over the last couple of weeks and the paperwork was lodged today

We are delighted that she has now found her forever home with Ben, his parents and their pack of dogs!

You can’t say no when Millcroft Veterinary Group call to say that they need an emergency blood donation, and today it was who stepped up to help a dog in need. Kayley was kind enough to come and collect him in the ambulance and he’s off to do the business

He’s a beautiful looking boy with an amazing nature who will be appearing on the Cumbria Greyhound Trust website very soon!

Sadie is a younger girl at two and a half years old, she has beautiful brindle markings and is on the smaller side at 25kg. She has a fantastic nature, very outgoing and loves people and other dogs, she’s great with kids but unlikely to be cat friendly

She’s fantastic on the lead, very inquisitive but doesn’t pull and would make a great pet for anyone

Homing #1 of 2024 - ✅

It’s always good to get the first homing of the year out of the way early, so we were delighted to complete the paperwork this week for to join Mark and Amy in Whitehaven

After homing their first greyhound from us in 2017, they decided it was time for another companion and took Pixie on trial before Christmas to help her settle while on their festive break

We are absolutely delighted for them and for Pixie!

Black bitch, 5 years 7 months

Roady has joined her sister today in looking for her forever home!

She's a beautiful sleek black girl, with a shiny coat for days. She's great with kids and other large dogs but is wary of smaller dogs and is not cat friendly. She has a big personality, she loves attention, especially her ears being tickled and putting her paws on your shoulder for a pat

She is also confirmed to be a fabulous blood donor, as evidenced by the scar she's sporting!
