We are recruiting a casual sales assistant! This position will include occasional working weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays. Candidates must be flexible with their working hours, and able to cover the occasional staff holiday when needed.
Working hours will vary but can be 1 or 2 days a week depending on the cover needed. Working hours may vary between 4.75Hrs to 9.25Hrs. Depending on the candidate there may be a possibility for a contacted part time position.
We are open at the following times.
8:45am – 6pm (Weekdays & Saturdays)
9:45am – 4:30pm (Sunday)
The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in all areas of fish keeping, some previous experience in fishkeeping with an enthusiasm for the hobby would be ideal. This role will involve caring for our livestock and the serving of customers. High standard of customer service is important so applicants should be enthusiastic and professional. Also being skilled in organisation will help with day-to-day jobs. Training will be provided on a successful employment basis.

Our fighting fit Reticulated Hillstream loach are a perfect fit for mature aquarium with high amounts of oxygenation/flow that has a good supply of natural algae. Their quirky behaviour is something total out of the ordinary and is a joy to observe.

This Strawberry conch is busy cleaning our new reef set up. We currently have around half a dozen in stock, ask our staff for more details. The Strawberry Conch is known from coastal lagoons and other protected areas where there is a sandy substrate, to depths of 20m (66ft). Here, these fascinating bottom-dwellers sift through the substrate with their trunk-like proboscis, feeding on benthic algae and detritus. These sea snails have remarkably advanced eyesight and move about in a series of lurches, using a combination of the single modified foot and the shell to provide leverage. The external colour of the shell may be mottled white, brown, or orange, with the interior a bright strawberry colour bordered with a black or brown inner lip. These industrious snails will spend most of their time sifting through the substrate for food items, consequently doing an excellent job of keeping the substrate turned over and well-oxygenated. At times, the snail may completely submerge itself in the substrate, with just the eye stalks and proboscis probing about above. The Strawberry Conch is safe in a reef setting, but obviously does require a good-sized open expanse of mature, live sand in which it can continue its ongoing search for food items. Avoid keeping with hermit crabs and large, aggressive fish.
