愛護動物協會資料提供：每天都有寵物走失。愛護動物協會和漁農自然護理署每月平均分別接收到100和150宗報失個案。另一方面，動物管理中心，動物福利機構和公眾每月也會發現數以百計的流浪動物。目前只有已植入晶片狗隻的資料儲存在中央資料庫。
