I'm based in Lismore and can groom small to medium dogs. Also selling my homemade gourmet dog treats at the Lismore Farmers Market most Sundays, 10am - 4pm - come see my dinky little stall and say hello! 😁

Maison du Chien is a petcare service run by a Registered Veterinary Nurse in the Lismore area. At the moment, this includes holistic grooming for small to medium dogs and freshly baked gourmet dog treats. Find me at the Lismore Farmers' Market!

Best explanation ever of why buying dogs, especially "designer dogs" from the internet is so dodgy. People tend not to research their chosen breed very carefully and it nearly always ends up worse for the dog. Please read and I promise I won't post anything preachy for a whole week....oooh well maybe 2 or 3 days...!! 😉

Far from being resilient to disease, many of these cross-breeds are, in fact, far more vulnerable to agonising illness and infection than pedigree dogs.

It's no good giving all dogs microchips if all vets, agencies and other establishments do not scan for microchips as standard procedure every and any time an animal is dealt with whether dead or alive.

Compulsory microchipping does not work without compulsory scanning and responsible owners are being let down as we have to rely on a 'Duty of Care' which doesn't work now!

36,000 signatures to date, target 100,000 by 21st January'16.

Rescue dog becomes Search and Rescue dog! Love it ❤️

Hi everyone in Madra. I thought you might like to see what one of your madra dogs is doing now. This is John Joe. He has recently become an official trainee search and rescue dog with SARDA ( search and rescue dog association) . Here he is in an exercise with the coast guard helicopter taking it all in his stride. Anyways just nice to show how amazing your rescue dogs can be. Always rescue....never buy.

Find it hard to watch some people out "walking" their dogs sometimes, flaking along at speed so that the dog never gets the chance to get the news.... This is why I was always tired - slow walk for my dogs, fast one for me!

Little female Shih Tzu found in Dungarvan yesterday, with finder at the moment, will be checked for microchip tomorrow when vets reopen. Does she look familiar to anyone? Proof of ownership will be required. Please share, thank you ❤️

Puppy farms don't have to be on a massive scale. Many backyard breeders can still churn out pups on a large scale by simply choosing the smaller designer/handbag breeds that are in fashion . These little dogs can easily be kept in rabbit hutches in garages, outbuildings and spare rooms. Be vigilant of the surroundings when you go to purchase a puppy. If it doesn't look or feel right.... then please walk away. Purchasing a pup to "save it" is actually only making space for another litter of pups and the cycle of misery keeps going around.

You all know that I'm very partial to Chihuahuas - but if this dog was offered for sale to me I hope I would have the good sense to check out the story. Hopefully the scum who stole her meet someone who's wise enough to be suspicious. These guys will want a quiet under-the-counter sale so please watch out. Little Gus was seen running in the direction of the Military Road/Kilgobinet cross around lunchtime - anyone from these areas could you please keep an eye out for him?

Hi all, Dobby's son Gus has run away from a house where his owner was visiting in Southways. He is a Chinese Crested Hairless dog and wasn't wearing his collar with his identity disc when he ran off. They are quite shy little dogs and hopefully he is hiding somewhere. Anyone who's seen a little dog running around, they sort of look like Gremlins and people might think they have mange because they have no hair. Poor little guy will be terrified as he is not in familiar surroundings. 😢

Merry Christmas to all you wonderful Dogsbody clients, both human and furry. It's been a lovely journey getting to know you since 2005, when Edel and I first opened. We started in a stable and ended up in Main Street! Dungarvan got it's first dog grooming shop in 2010 and we've made some fabulous friends along the way. It's sad to close but as Olivere said (another stalwart of Main Street who always gave me such good advice and kind words during my first years) - "It's not goodbye, it's au revoir!" Till we meet again, Merry Christmas! X###

Dogsbody's Christmas Food Collection for Mary Organ's Dungarvan Rescue Kennels is coming along nicely. A big thanks to all who've dropped off donations so far (a special mention to the Geoghegan family who wrapped up a little Christmas box of gifts for the dogs, along with a card!). I'll be open on Mon 22nd 9-6pm and Tues 23rd till 5ish so if you have time to add a bag of food to your shopping, the abandoned and surrendered dogs of Dungarvan will thank you very much indeed! 🎄

Well "Love Actually" got it right, Christmas is all around me now 🎶 thanks to Roisin Hickey and her thoughtful loan of an iPod and stereo with 4 days of Christmas music!! Jingle bells and Baby Powder smells all the way here at the moment!

In the Ballylemon area of Cappagh - young male dog. Vets informed but dog being collected by Dog Warden to be brought to pound now. Please share so hopefully his family will be found before his 5 days are up 😢
