If anyone, anywhere tells you to pull the horses head down (or uses leverage and gadgets to do so) they have no knowledge of healthy horse biomechanics or of correct training.
The horse's nose must always lead, with the poll highest and the gullet open. The base of the ears mustn't be lower than the withers. The jaw must be mobile. If the horse cannot chew and swallow, the hindlegs cannot operate correctly. If the hindlegs cannot operate correctly, the horse will not be able to jump, or stay off the forehand, or stay sound.

Hier sieht man die Fazettengelenke einer Halswirbelsäule des
Man kann darunter die Nerven sehen welche aus dem Rückenmark austreten
Wenn nun diese verändert sind bildet sich Knochen an den Gekenksrändern zu was zusammen mit der Gelenkskapsel zur Kompression dieser Nerven führen kann.
Dies wiederum verursacht neurologische Defizite als auch schmerzen weshalb die Pferde häufig lahm sind.

Low but not low and on the forehand, it's a balancing act !!!

Think this one needs to come out and play again !

The head is heavy. The head does not want to hit the ground especially if walking faster than an amble. The tension is on the nuchal ligament which has attachments at wither then as supraspinous up at lumbar/sacro areas. It is tensioned on a lever arm, often the lumbar is the brace to counteract, plus the ligament itself gets a bit reactive. The forelimbs also start loading more to counteract the head not hitting the ground. The body tensions even more with more speed, of course adaptations are all different but typically you will definitely see the limb loading change in the fores, with the hinds becoming straighter and having an earlier impact (as in they land very close to the vertical of the stride and either stay out the back or lift up and down, piston like, side to side etc… )

Lower limbs, pasterns, DDFT, SDFT, sesamoids all become overloaded… then if there is also mediolateral imbalance … eek 😳

Got so much going on at present ☺️!!!

Working through my assignments to become a Saddle fitter Through Schleese (Saddle Fit 4 Life ).
This has always been a passion for me , especially trying to work with economy,so that not always brand new saddles required 👍🙏

My first love Equine Osteopathy is still burning strong , and I also enjoy working with horses to develope excercise programmes to build up their weak/problem areas.

Well Done Alanna Fagan, super riding and a great result in Under 14, European Championships!!!

James Kernan's GAIN Equine Nutrition Irish U14 (COH) Show Jumping team of Alanna Fagan, Annie Boland, Cian McMunn, Jamie Clarke and Robert Russell have finished in ninth place overall following today's final round of the team competition at the FEI European Championships in Oliva, Spain.
Ireland finished on a three round total of 16 faults. Germany have won the gold medal on a zero score, while France and Italy will jump-off for silver and bronze after both finished on four faults.
The Irish performance today included clear rounds from Alanna Fagan with Bella M (ISH) and from Jamie Clarke with Coumroe Special (ISH), while Cian McMunn had 8 faults with Captain Marko (ISH).

I'm currently, (preparing for baby)🤱and busy training with International college,SADDLE FIT4LIFE, to become a Certified Equine Ergonomonist(CEE)!!!

This will qualify me to give guidance on correct saddle fit and also the correct saddle for each rider's anatomy ,weight and height.
This is a fascinating course and the first of its kind ,regarding the importance of the rider saddle in matching the riders anatomy.
Don't let your saddle hold back your riding level!!!

Great to see the first pressure tested racing saddle in use in Ireland saddles !!!!
Lots of research gone into this and its suitability and safety for horses spines!!!This is an exciting future for the horses at Liam o Briens !!!😁😁😁
