👉🏻NORMAL IF YOUR DOG GETS SCARED.
While we humans have learned to expect fireworks ,the sound of fireworks can be quite startling for dogs!
👉🏻AFTER ALL, YOUR DOG HAS KEEN SENSES THAT MAKE FIREWORKS A MORE INTENSE EXPERIENCE.
Your dog’s acute hearing makes him more sensitive to the sounds of fireworks than you are. “Fireworks also produce an odor that dogs may be sensitive to,”
👉🏻DURING FIREWORKS, YOUR DOG EXPERIENCES THE SAME KIND OF STARTLED RESPONSE YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE SURPRISED BY A LOUD NOISE.
This may mean an increase in heart rate, a rush of adrenaline, and an increase in stress hormones circulating through the body.
👉🏻FOR YOUR DOG, FIREWORKS AREN’T THE SAME EXPERIENCE AS A THUNDERSTORM.
Thunderstorms come with a lot of warning signs, like changes in barometric pressure and high winds, so dogs anticipate them. Since fireworks are sudden and occur less frequently than thunderstorms, dogs might be more intimidated by them.
👉🏻THERE ARE PLENTY OF DOGS WHO AREN’T AFRAID OF FIREWORKS.
It might be because they’re naturally easy-going, or it might be because they were exposed to enough noises when they were young that they understand that fireworks aren’t a threat.
👉🏻IF YOU START EARLY, YOU CAN HELP LOWER YOUR DOG’S SENSITIVITY TO THE SOUND OF FIREWORKS.
If you know there are going to be fireworks in your area, you can help prepare your dog by exposing him to recorded firework sounds. Note that this process takes months of effort that includes gradually increasing the volume while you reward your dog for keeping calm. It’s not a short-term fix.

Most people still sadly view “Training their dog” as something unnatural but fail to recognise that the mere fact that we are living with another species in itself is unnatural.
Dogs might be the first domesticated animal by mankind but that does not give us a stamped authority to get dog/s into our homes without even attempting to understand the values and specific requirements and the way the species views the world, which is a totally 180 degree shift from how you and i view the world.. its a different perspective.

A year back we had a case of dog bitting owners..this particular one was protection aggression towards A specific person, to protect that member from others.
Well, not the first one for sure BUT was unique because the aggression stemmed out of a simple problem of Separation anxiety!

Put behaviours on Cue! Easiest way to stop unwanted acts is to teach the dog meaning of those words. Eg.👉 Dog that jumps on people : put the jump on command. Not all leash reactivity is a serious “Problem”. - Danny keeps barking incessantly when he sees other dogs on his daily walks. When our dogs have played more than required with other dogs on leashes during their everyday walks, the owner dog bonding during walk time fades and dog to new dog bonding surfaces resulting in this kind of behaviour because leash constraints them and hence frustration builds.. frustration to not being able to reach the other dogs to play with. - Remember leash walking is one such activity that any dog owner can use beautifully as a time to BOND with their dog! - You take a dog out to play, sniff, exercise out with YOU..you get a dog that focuses on YOU! YOU give the dog the idea of walks mean play time with their dog friends.. YOU get a dog that steps out ONLY keeping in mind play parks and other crazy play with their species..
