After a good morning riding on our guests were greeted with a bottle of champagne and a breakfast in the bush, accompanied by a pretty zebra. As you do! And since Florian happens to be a farrier by profession, he even trimmed a horse for us!

Two happy souls! Dorota from Poland started riding when she turned 40 and got totally hooked. When she planned her Safari in Kenya she explicitly looked for a place to stay where she can also enjoy horses. offers this! Dora’s partner joined her for the first ride and after realizing that she is in safe hands on our beautiful horses, he decided to let her go riding meanwhile he enjoyed an exclusive gamedrive on and join the champagne bushbreakfast after a morning out on safari.

Great morning watching Mama Leopard from horseback!

Again! A fantastic Leopard sighting from Horseback made our morning riding on #oleraiconservancy - This female Leopard gave birth to two beautiful cubs in February this year. Even after many sightings it still makes our heart skip a beat when we see the trio. The mum is used to our horses and seems to be quite comfortable around us! The cubs are at a rather playful stage of their lifes and you would see them stick their heads out, take a glimpse and hide again. @the_wilder_group @sonias_wildside @johnekiruekalale

On yesterday’s afternoon ride we could hear these two jackels from quite a distance and they wouldn’t stop barking for a while. Coming closer to the scene we saw they were all around a leopard carrying something in its mouth. First we thought the leopard must have taken the jackals cub and the jackals are trying to get it back. However getting close enough to have a proper look it turned out the leopard caught a vervet monkey and our only explanation for the loud jackals is that they wanted their share of the leopards catch!

In other parts of the world you would take your dog on an outride…when you ride in maasai mara you take your leopard along 🐆🌍🌳

Safari on the back of a horse is unlike any other kind of safari. With our steady, well loved and expertly schooled horses you will feel both secure and at one with the landscape. We require all our riders to be competent and confident at all paces; surprises in the bush cannot be predicted. Every day will see a plethora of wildlife: impala trotting alongside us, wildebeest whirling away, giraffe lolloping off in any direction and zebras calmly cantering into the distance. Vistas are always enormous, the wide African sky impossibly huge, and the horizon distant and hovering in the midday heat. It's a feeling of utter freedom and a return to existing as a human in harmony with the environment.

Under the professional guidance of Nadine Ospelkaus and her team of grooms, each safari horse is carefully schooled, exercised and loved for the sole purpose of carrying our guests safely through the African wilderness. We ride in the English style using very comfortable French cavalry and English general–purpose saddles.
