*SOME RANDOM, PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE I HAVE EXPERIENCED AND LEARNT AS A POULTRY FARMER.*

* Give vaccines at interval of 1 week.
* Starve birds water,1-2 hours before vaccination to enable them consume more.
* Never you vaccinate when birds are sick.
* Ensure daily washing of feeders and drinkers especially drinkers.
* Ensure clean water is often given to the birds. water you too can consume.
* Adequate feed should be given to your birds.
* Never you enter your pen with an outdoor footwear to avoid disease introduction.
* Provide foot dip for your pen,if you must allow visitors in.
* Ensure heat source is provided during brooding so as to regulate the body temperature of birds. At this stage birds are too tender to regulate heat themselves due to less feathers.

* Ensure proper sanitation to encourage good health of birds.
* Pay proper attention to bird's droppings.

* The male broiler have larger comb and fewer feather coverage.
* Feed should not exceed three months from the day of manufacturing. Feed above 3 months given to birds is poisonous.
* Ensure day old chick has uniform colour before purchasing.

Brooding boiler birds requires careful planning and attention to detail to ensure the chicks grow into healthy birds. Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. **Prepare the Brooder**: Clean the brooder thoroughly and disinfect it to prevent the spread of diseases. Ensure there are no drafts, and the temperature can be controlled.

2. **Temperature Management**: Before the chicks arrive, preheat the brooder to the recommended temperature for the age of the chicks. Generally, start at around 95Ā°F (35Ā°C) for newly hatched chicks and decrease the temperature gradually by 5Ā°F (2-3Ā°C) each week until it reaches room temperature.

3. **Bedding**: Spread a layer of clean, dry bedding material such as wood shavings or straw on the floor of the brooder. This provides insulation and helps absorb moisture.

4. **Water and Feed**: Place waterers and feeders in the brooder, ensuring they are easily accessible to the chicks. Use clean water and provide chick starter feed formulated specifically for their nutritional needs.

5. **Arrival of Chicks**: When the chicks arrive, carefully place them in the brooder. Handle them gently to avoid stressing them.

6. **Monitoring**: Monitor the chicks closely for the first few days to ensure they are comfortable and healthy. Watch for signs of distress, such as huddling together or excessive chirping.

7. **Lighting**: Provide a consistent light source in the brooder to simulate daylight hours. This helps regulate the chicks' circadian rhythms and encourages healthy growth.

8. **Ventilation**: Ensure adequate ventilation in the brooder to prevent the buildup of ammonia from droppings and to maintain air quality.

9. **Health Management**: Keep a close eye on the chicks for any signs of illness or injury. Consult a veterinarian if you notice any issues.

10. **Gradual Transition**: As the chicks grow, gradually reduce the temperature in the brooder and introduce them to outdoor conditions. This process, known as "hardening off," prepares them for life outside the brooder.

11. **Space Requirements**: As the chicks grow, provide enough space in the brooder to prevent overcrowding, which can lead to stress and aggression.

12. **Continued Care**: Regularly clean the brooder, refill waterers and feeders, and monitor the chicks' growth and behavior. Adjust temperature, lighting, and ventilation as needed.

By following these steps, you can successfully brood boiler birds and set them on the path to healthy growth and development.

Brooder need extra patients during brooding, most times some brooder clean their pen after 4 days but I clean mine twice daily morning and evening.

If your chick is well and healthy during brooding it is difficult for sickness to kill them, but it requires a lot of patience.

if your chicken is reared in a dirty pen it's a crime called animal cruelty and it's punishable by law.

So if you want to go into livestock rearing prepared your mind and train your heart for it.
