If only I had a dollar for every picture I've drawn on every parcel sent out over the last 36 years!!!... so glad it brings a smile to people and their pets (plus a giggle for the couriers along the travels)

The best part was receiving the replacement door with a cute picture drawn on the packet …. How did you know it would look exactly like the dog door breaking culprit!?!? 🐾

We do sometimes advise that pups can get through some cat doors, but we aren’t generally meaning the flippered type! 🦭

This story of the curious seal that found a cat flap and made itself at home in this Tauranga house has gone around the world! 🦭

Luckily this story had a good ending with one of our rangers showing up to save the day. 🚨

As seal numbers increase they are popping up in some unusual places. If you see a seal on the beach or in a coastal area they are probably just having a rest, rather than being sick or injured. Please give them plenty of space (20 metres) and keep dogs away.

If you see a seal in immediate danger, being harassed or tangled in debris you can call 0800 DOCHOT.

Happy Friday all... this comes with a HUGE apology to anyone attempting to email, order or contact us through our website over the last week... there has been MAJOR issues and our IT team are attempting to sort them - we have had no emails/orders etc forwarded through .... so we are not ignoring you - we do still love you and your pets... please just phone me (as that is working at present!!!) and we will be able to discuss immediately your requirement (orders can be placed still - I can go into the website directly and deal direct with that for them but I can't retrieve any emails sent through to us)

A reminder about the perils of the heat...

Remember the 5 second rule 🐾

Remember, if the pavement or sand is too hot for you, it is too hot for your pet! Your dog’s feet can get burnt and blistered on the hot ground, particularly hot pavements, asphalt or scorching beach sand. Hot black iron-rich sands are found along much of the Western Coast of the North Island and can cause huge damage to the paws of your furry friends. Check if it’s a safe temperature by placing the back of your hand on the pavement or sand for five seconds. If it’s too hot to keep your hand there then your pet shouldn’t be out walking on it.
