It’s been a wee while between post, has been very quiet around here. We have finally got some rain which means mud again 🤣 either rock hard or soaking up here. We have just been out feeding everyone and thought it would be the perfect time to share photos of wet muddy sheep and horses 🙂 We put our 2 pet sheep in with the horses, number # 9 aka Timmy with the smile is not really sure if he is horse,dog or sheep he quiet the character! The horses are being very tolerant even sharing their food with the sheep

A wee update from us here in North Canterbury, It’s so brown and dry it’s scary! There was another fire in the district last night :( we need some rain, this time last year we had a creek running through our paddocks. I have just been out to check on everyone, the sheep and cows have been enjoying their balage the little lambs have even figured out how to use the hay feeder jumping up on it 😂 my silkie chicks are getting big and fluffy, Luna our ragdoll has found her new favourite past time ( chicken watching ) as long as she sticks to watching il be happy! Cherry our guinue fowl has been sitting on a nest for a couple of days so hopefully so more babies around the place soon 🐣 on the upside with this heat my pumpkins and melons have been growing so well, hopefully fresh melons soon 🍉

Shearing day thank goodness it has been so hot and dry here! They are definitely harder to tell apart without their coats on, but I’m sure they feel a lot better 😊

Today was a busy day picking up and
carting 550 bales of hay, we got a nice surprise when we got home, Rose had a very cute wee lamb beside her meet Hazel ( had to have hay in the name ) I had been so busy today hadn’t seen any signs it was happening. Both look healthy and happy 🙂

Yay Duke has found a pet home he is about to start his journey to Timaru he has been a pleasure to have around and one of the cutest lambs we have had 🥰

Anyone would mistake it for spring here… cute baby animals taking over the place ( we are going to have chickens coming out of our ears! All hens either have babies or sitting nest here ) hoping everyone is enjoying there holidays and keeping safe out there 🙂

We nearly got a Christmas lamb. Flossie just had a wee ram lamb, he has interesting markings on his nose and long legs! Just have have one more ewe to lamb in the next couple of weeks and then that is it for a wee bit. 🐑

Cutest Xmas present yet! Duke is still available $150 4 months old great nature very friendly and inquisitive, loves sheep nuts up to date with drenching and vaccinations. Would love to find this boy a pet home 💗 🐑

A wee bit of animal love for me today 🥰 it was nice to be back in the paddock amoung them today. A little bit of sunshine and fresh air to brighten my day ☀️ wee Duke is still looking for a home so if anyone is looking for a cute lawn mower for their property send them my way 🙂

Feeding time in the zoo! Lucky all my animals are super friendly even the cows can be walked to move paddocks which makes farm life duties a little easier for Josh. Everyone is surving with out me but we have some great people helping out around here 💗

We said goodbye to Spot and Harry today I am so pleased they got to go together and they have only moved a wee way up the road to be cute wee lawnmowers. 🥰

Today has be a good day I had my friend Megan come from Anythyme Homestead to groom the horses and help Josh with the sheep and trim Dodges feet ( he is off to his new home Tuesday ) I was able to hobble out on my crutches and say see everyone which is really helping with the mental health, very hard for me going from hands on to house bound. The lambs were weaned last week all looking very cute and fluffy 🙂 the 2 boy lambs Spot and Harry are now ready for new homes so if anyone wants cute lawnmowers shout out !

Farm life is going to be a little different for me for abit, I’m currently in a moon boot after badly braking my leg and having surgery. It’s pouring rain here and josh’s work load has been heavily increased taking on my duties as farmer, mum, cook, cleaner as well as drain layer / business owner. I can watch from afar for now and give instructions but unfortunately no lamb cuddles for me for abit, looking forward to when the weather improves and I can hobble outside to see everyone. The view from the lounge out to the paddocks can’t see many animals today

Before and after shots, they look way cuter with their coats on. The shearer was really good and picked up that dodge horns have been touching his head 😞 the vet today came this morning gave antibiotics, pain relief, and had a go at some sawing and filing to create some more space between his horn and skull / ears. I’m hoping we can keep his horns but need to see how things go over the next 2 weeks fingers crossed what we have done today will be enough 🤞

Omg just been out trying to take photos of the lambs while getting bombed by them 😕 anyway thought I would do an update on the boys I will have upon weaning at the end of September all growing really well and developing wee personalities I’m looking for $150 each perfect wee lawnmowers for a lifestyle property 🙂

Introducing this years lambs ( so many boys! ) the 2 girls will go on to breed in the future and the boys will all be wethered and be available to purchase upon weening ( Freddy, Frank & Larry are F2 ( 75 % Valais ) the rest are F1 50% Valais this spring will be super cute with these guys bouncing around 🐑 🥰

Got a nice surprise this morning woke to another set of F2 twins ( but 2 more boys! Freddy & Frank ) they are the smallest of all this years lambs so just keeping a close eye on them and mum today, she wasn’t very big so had no idea she was having twins.
