This is beautiful Luna, a 3 year old Labrador. She came to us after sustaining an injury to her back foot 6 months prior. Which became too much for her owners. This caused significant damage to her foot resulting in constant pain, a wound which just couldn’t heal with the constant friction on the ground over this whole period and a sad and frustrated dog who just wanted to run and couldn't.
After a consultation with the surgical specialists at , Luna was found to have severed her digital flexor tendons of all her back left toes, poor sweetheart ( not just one toe ALL of them). The function of these tendons is to move the toes in daily range of motion. Unfortunately due to the of severity of her injury and the length of time, Luna’s limb had to be amputated, which was done at the amazing Coast Pet Care.
She’s a fighter though, and has recovered extremely well she now runs as if she was born with only 3 legs. Luna has had the best foster parents by her side every step of the way.
Once in our care all animals get the best vet/ specialist care because they deserve the best chance no matter the cost. Luckily for this lady she has already found a perfect home that she will be moving to this weekend. However the bills don’t disappear when adoption happens.
If anyone can help donate money towards these vet bills we would be so grateful. All funds for her will go directly to the vets and allow us to continue helping those that deserve another chance.
Maybe your office or school can do a donation box?
