High Country Khai and Stonehavens' Maze and Gale have produced some fantastic puppies. PRA clear or carrier only. Ready now, they have had their first vax, microchip and come with 6 weeks puppy insurance. They are in Amberley, North Canterbury and transport can be arranged. Please pm Lucy Turnbull about these cutties.

Time to share what has been going on behind the scenes at High Country heelers. Not only 2 litters of pups on the same day but big renovation. So proud of what we have done and the out come of it all. This has been a dream of mine and its all coming into place. Just a reminder when we have lots of milk powder around this time of year.

Warning - toxic milk powder

This may be a funny photo of a dog powdering their nose, or possibly giving their best Colombian druglord impersonation, but did you know that calf milk powder can be poisonous?!
Many calf milk replacers contain 'coccidiostats' which are there to aid control of coccidia (an intracellular parasite) in calves. The problem is that these coccidiostats are toxic to other animals including dogs, cats, sheep, goats, horses and other unintended species.
Symptoms may include weakness, wobbliness, or tremors and in severe cases death may result. Make sure you know the contents of your milk powder, keep it out of reach of other animals and only feed it to the intended species. If your dog or another pet ever gets into milk or milk powder containing coccidiostats call us at the clinic as soon as possible.
