Yesterday's pooches. Normally I would walk Max and Charlie together. But yesterday I decided to take them on the scooter for the first time yesterday. They both did 10kms each. And they both LOVED it. With a bit more training and practice it might be something we do often with these two 🛴🐕

Poppy and Taro are my two energiser bunnies, always on the go. Especially when they are together. But today I took the time to slow things down for their walk and I had great results. We hung out after their walk to let them have a calm relaxing chill out in the sun 🌞

The holidays are over. Time to get back into study and assignments 📚

Only you can make changes to your dogs behaviours. Not your trainer and not your dog walker, you!

As trainers we can only guide you and support you in your journey with your dog. The hour or two we spend with them a week won’t “fix” them. The other 166 hours a week is up to you.

Training isn’t an over night fix and no matter how many trainers you go to they will tell you the same thing. Good things take time. Just like going to the gym to lose weight, studying for degrees and paying off a house. It takes time and a butt load of effort, just like dogs. But it’s doable isn’t it?

Give it your all, try different things (consult with your trainer first) and most importantly don’t give up on yourself and your dog.

Socializing your dog.

Socializing you dog might not necessarily be interacting with other dogs. Or having lots of doggy friends to play with. But more around teaching your dog how to behave in and around different situations. This is the foundation for socializing properly. The aim is to have a calm dog that is under control in every situation.

Try having your dog sit beside you just people watching. Allowing your dog to take the world in without over stimulating them. Watching cars, other dogs and people from a comfortable distance for your dog is hugely beneficial. Teach your dog what is expected of them in these situations. Which is usually a calm state of mind 😌

Is your dog actually getting the amount of exercise they need?

A lot of our consults recently have been people dealing with a lot of issues, only to find out their dog only gets a 20 minute walk down the road, every odd day.

Your dog needs more! Big dogs, small dogs, black dogs, white dogs, lap dogs, working dogs and cute dogs all need an adequate amount of exercise. Not only is exercise great for the mind and soul it is also a great way to strengthen your relationship.

For the love of dogs, give your dogs more. A walk or a run is the highlight of your dogs day before they’re cramped up back inside. We’ve asked these dogs to live a human life, let’s give them the respect they deserve by giving them what they need while living in our world ❤️

Today we said goodbye to our amazing Dexter.
When I first started walking Dexter he was an excitable, ready to go ball of energy. But always seemed a little on edge and a wee bit nervous at times. Leash walking wasn't his strongest point when we first met. And the idea of loose lead walking was seemed like it was going to be a challenge....
And I always love a good challenge
So with a lot of one on one training, patience and LOTS of walking I can now say Dexter is an absolute dream to walk! Can still be a ball of energy but has learnt how to be calm and relaxed.The eye contact and the attention this dog gives you blows my mind. He has become Marleys little follower and these two are like peas in a pod.
We're gonna miss you buddy!

Quick morning walk before we start tech 🐕

Amazing moment with Poppy today. We had a small dog that and ran up to us barking. When I first met Poppy her first reaction to this would have been barking and lunging and causing a scene. But today we stopped, Poppy gave me eye contact, no barks and we carried on.
This is such a huge improvement for Poppy and I'm super proud of her ❤️

Let's do more with our dogs. Put more time and effort into them. Help them overcome behavioral issues they may have. Give them confidence! Play with them. Teach them things
What is the point of having a dog if you cant do all these things?
People get dogs because they are "cool" not understanding the real work they need put into them for them to be a well-behaved, calm dog.
Yes people like me are here to HELP with things like walking and training, but untimetly it is up to YOU to put the work in to your dog to get the results. Training your dog should be a lifestyle, rather then a once off or anytime you can be bothered kinda thing.
Put time into your dog! You will notice the difference and your fur friend with thank you for it 🐾👍
