Season done and dusted today in Taupo. Not quite the end we wanted in the 5yo but still an impressive effort considering he’s carted me around my biggest tracks in a fair few years over the past months and I only started jumping him in February! Onwards and upwards preparing for next season where we will be kicking off in the amateurs and see how brave I feel about stepping up to the 6yos.

Burley you’re a star 🥰🌟

It’s been 8 years since my last trip to HOY and at the start of the season I sure didn’t imagine I’d be here let alone getting to jump round the premier arena after not jumping properly in so long. Very proud of my boy coming home with a ribbon after jumping double clear for 6th in the 5 Year Old Horse of the Year class yesterday. Pretty special being able to come out on a horse that I’ve bred ❤️

Tessa is an exciting young horse for the future. She’s got an excellent work ethic and can do attitude when it comes to jumping. She will be in work and available for viewings for the next month (heading to Waitemata and Series Final shows) before she goes out to the herd for a well earned holiday.

Dyna was a little star picking up a 6th and 5th in her classes on Saturday. She then stepped up jumping the 1.05-1.10m yesterday with her first triple bar. Burley continues to test me as I get the hang of him, but feeling confident heading towards HOY after ticking off my biggest round in a fair few years popping around the 1.15m accumulator class with one rail and clearing the big joker

Ticked off my first show onboard my special boy Burley RF jumping the 5yo qualifier yesterday, and 1.10m this morning. It was a bit of a big ask with only a couple weeks preparation after him being gelded but it was a starting point and now looking forward to getting more jump mileage to tidy things up before HOY.

Wouldn’t have imagined two months ago we’d be jumping the 4yo class at Takapoto but this super mare has really blown me away this year ticking off her first shows. 6th in yesterdays qualifier class with one rail. Unfortunately rider let her down today but she jumped her heart out for the last half.

Another successful NZWA Classification ticked off! Three year old Up n Go RF (pictured) entered the Stallion Studbook with a merit. Cornetto RF entered the Mare Studbook. And the three foals Utopia RF, Dahlia RF and Gianna RF each picked up an excellence for their inspections 🥰

Feels like it’s been a long time coming after such a late start to our breeding season but finally ticked off our first two pregnancies over the last week. Cornetto RF (Cornet’s Air x Fetiche du Pas) and Athena GNZ (Cassiano x Lander) both went to our young stallion Up n Go RF (Up To You x Untouchable M) who will be put forward for his stallion licensing next month. I am thrilled with his first foal on the ground and cannot wait to get him back into work soon after his holiday now that his breeding duties are all ticked off.

Another great day with Tessa jumping super round her 80cm with one light rail. Dyna jumped clear in the 1m and stepped up to the 1.05m with a rider miss = rail at the first but otherwise jumping awesome ❤️

Star child today ⭐️ clear 70cm and two green rails in the 80cm for Tessa’s first competition. Opted to not jump Dyna when the skies opened and turned the arena to a soggy mess. Fingers crossed for better conditions tomorrow
