Yay for Friday!!!!!!!!!!!🎊🎊
I have been trying out the Sporting Saint Dummies over the winter months. My spaniel loves them, the nobbles provide great texture for grip ensuring he maintains his soft mouth. The bright white means he can mark it in the air and when floating on the lake. If you're not into working your dog, they are a great toy to encourage them into the water over the hotter months🐕
Designed and developed by Sporting Saint, they are great for water and land training, a great multi-use dummy with rope attached.

We also have a great range of enrichment, throwing and squeaky toys on the toy wall, you can't miss it, it's the first thing you'll see when you come and visit us this weekend🎉

The aquarium is full of fish, turtles, gecko's, bearded dragons. The aviary is buzzing with the birds feeling the first signs of spring in the air. We still have some male canaries available and their song is beautiful and vibrant.🛒🐥

Winter continues to hold us all to ransom, especially the ponds and plants at Wonderworld, so thankfully there is plenty to look and talk about in the aquarium.

There is colour and song in the aviary, the aquarium is looking fantastic with our displays settling in and all the fish, turtles and gecko's thriving.

Our scaped CO2 tank is taking off, our Aqua One Aquasys Lake Tanganyika display is looking well, the fish are happy and displaying natural behaviour, especially the lovely shell dwellers.

The Gecko's are going through a shed so are a bit grumpy and feeling a little delicate and the Painted Turtles always bring a smile to the faces of visitors that take the time to say hello.

Hopefully we see you all over the weekend, and can talk to you about what we have in store.

We have 5 beautiful male Norwich Canaries, they are already singing and we will miss their melodious song when they find their forever homes.

These Canaries are a robust bird with a broad body, heavy brows, and a full head. They grow to be around 6.3 inches and have a life expectancy of 10 to 12 years if they live in the wild. However, they can live up to 20 years in captivity.

All Canaries love greens of any kind, and you can give them to your feathered pal daily, along with calcium in the form of a cuttlebone. You can feed your little songbird a variety of kale, dandelions, broccoli, celery, spinach, peas, and watercress.

For the occasional treat, feed your Norwich fruits, such as bananas, melons, apples, and oranges, with the peels off. You can even give the bird bits of hard-boiled eggs as an added supplement. Make sure to keep fresh water in the bird’s cage at all times: one bowl for bathing and one for drinking fresh water.

A massive thank you to 2Hr Aquarist NZ for their very beautiful display tank here at Wonderworld Rotorua. The set up is in it's early stages, still no lights or plants, we are waiting for the cycle to complete before planting.

The set up may look complicated and technical but it is easy with the right products.
Chihiros Lights, dosing pump for fertilizers and CO2 regulators, all products are on the shelves, Jordan and Sam are ready and waiting to tell you all about them.

We will be posting regular updates as this tank goes through its stages, hoping to convey the journey from setup to full growth.

This Sunday, the 14th July, Team are coming to Wonderworld to set up a fully scaped and planted tank.

This is a great opportunity for our team and any of you, who want to come, to ask questions and watch how the professionals do it.

This tank will be set up with dosing pumps, CO2 and Chihiros Lights and we are excited to watch it develop and grow over the next months.

We are stocking all the products that are being used on this beautiful project and we look forward to talking to you all about them over the coming weeks.

Don't be shy, call in mid morning to watch, ask questions, buy stuff and see genius at work.

The Gecko's have been with us for a while now. The heat from their Arcadia heat projectors encourages them to venture out a little more even on these colder days 🦎

They have grown well since arriving at Wonderworld, they are great eaters and love their meal worms. It's funny watching their sloth speed hunting habits as they stalk their prey crawling slowly across the substrate😆

Our Canaries provide a beautiful splash of colour and song on these grey wintry days. 🐦🦜

The aviary is a source of joy and delight at this time of year when the gardens are looking washed out.

I know there is at least one male serenading the ladies but he is smart and pipes down when we try to spot who it is.🎤💛

It will take patience to find him.

Yay for Friday!!🤣🤣

Sam has been busy this week setting up Wonderworlds newest display tank.

This set up is a Lake Tanganyika Biotope using an Aqua One Aquasys 235l Aquarium, Aquis 1200 and a Aqua One Strip Glo light.

Watch how it develops over the next month, he is hoping for some algae to grow on the rocks mimicking a more natural look. The shell dwellers have already claimed a shell each and we will be adding a few more over the next few weeks.🐠🐠

Change is afoot with Topflite rabbit and guinea pig range. They've been looking into the latest science around the nutritional needs of small fibrevore pets and are pleased to announce some improvements to their recipes.



Topflite Rabbit & Guinea Pig mix is now centred entirely around natural fibre: pressed pellets of pure New Zealand-grown Timothy and lucerne hay, to be exact. We also applied the fibre-first approach to our Bonanza Bars and Nibble Sticks, all in the name of keeping complex fibrevore tummies happy.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for Friday.

It's been a fantastic week in store and we are loving the school holidays. We rejoice in the visitors and hearing how many of you have been visiting the shop over the last 40 years. Grandparents bringing in grandkids to start another family tradition.

We have bunnies, Budgies, Cockatiels, Canaries and plenty of fish, come and have a look, also the frogs love playing hide and the kids seek. See how many you can find in Sam's beautiful terrarium.

The Bearded Dragons are thriving and not shy at all and the Painted Turtles enjoy swimming over to say hello when you visit.
