Kennel Cough (Canine Infectious Tracheobrochitis)

Cause: Bordetella Bronchoseptica , Canine parainfluenza virus, Canine Adenovirus 2, canine influenza virus

May develop from single agent or may occur through mixed infection.

Cough may be dry and hacking ( goose honk ) or productive ( coughing up secretions)

A core vaccine cost around 350 to 500 pesos which included common diseases of dogs particularly CANINE PARVO VIRUS.

Here is a sample computation of your possible expenses when your dog gets Parvo virus.
1. Hopitalization 1500 to 2500 per day
2. Parvo test 700 to 1200 per test
3. Consultation 250
4. Fecalysis 200 to 300
5. Home meds 1000 if they survive?
PLUS no guarantee of survival...

Remember
1. More dogs die of this disease than vaccination related disease.
2. Its a PREVENTABLE DISEASE and vaccines are available, so avail it!
3. Vaccines are CHEAP and TREATMENT is EXPENSIVE, have your dogs Vaccinated.
4. If your dog DIED of parvo dont blame the VET who treated it, ask yourself WHY DID I NOT PREVENT IT.

Yannie the pug brought to the clinic for vaccine but we noticed their is skin infection in the forhead and between her eyes. This is caused by Demodex canis, a cigar-shaped mite with eight legs. These bugs reside and feed in the hair follicles and oil glands of the skin, and are so small that they can only be seen under a microscope.

These mites are actually normally found in the skin of dogs, but when the dog's immune system gets compromised then the number of mites increase. This causes hair loss, redness, crusting and scaling of the skin, as well as a dog that's itching a lot. Just imagine this bug being inside your skin! 😱

Thankfully there are several options for treatment and prevention. So if you have dogs that looks like they might have mange, make sure you have your vet check them out 😊

" BRAVO THE SURVIVOR"
Bravo is a parvo survivor, he brought to the clinic with a symptoms of a parvo infection.. Bravo is lethargic, with fever dehydrated,no appetite for 2 days and a diarrhea.🤒🤒🤒
Parvo in puppies is caused by the canine parvovirus. This virus is highly contagious and spreads through direct contact with an infected dog or by indirect contact with a contaminated object. Your puppy is exposed to the parvovirus every time he sniffs, licks, or consumes infected f***s. Indirect transmission occurs when a person who has recently been exposed to an infected dog touches your puppy, or when a puppy encounters a contaminated object, like a food or water bowl, collars and leashes, and the hands and clothing of people who handle infected dogs.
Classifies the virus as a disease of the stomach and small intestines, as this is where the virus does the most damage. The virus prefers to infect the small intestine, where it destroys cells, impairs absorption, and disrupts the gut barrier. Parvo in puppies also affects the bone marrow and lymphopoietic tissues, and in some cases can also affect the heart.

This is steeve. He brought to the clinic today because his family noticed his constantly scratching his ears and all over the body.. Steeve is poSsitive with sarcoptic mite..
Sarcoptic mange is caused by a parasitic mite (Sarcoptes scabiei) that burrows just beneath the surface of the skin.
These mites bury into the skin of healthy adult dogs and puppies, and feed on material in and on the skin. Sarcoptic mange is also known as scabies and is zoonotic, which means it is a disease transmissible from pets to people.
The presence of the sarcoptic mite causes intense itching. The dog will chew and scratch its skin constantly. This leads to the loss of large amounts of hair, especially on the legs and belly. Eventually, the skin will become thickened and will darken.
Sarcoptic mange is highly contagious to other dogs and humans.
Although sarcoptic mites are not able to complete their life cycle on humans, they will cause severe itching until they die.

The next time you noticed your pets spending more than a normal amount of time scratching and no tick and flea noticed, it might be a good idea to have them checked by your vet.☺☺☺

RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP doesn't end after finishing all CORE VACCINATIONS and deworming schedules. We still have other concerns such as HEARTWORM infection (as shown in the first photo) and EHRLICHIA (includes other tick borne blood parasites too) which are both PREVENTABLE (in the sense that we can greatly decrease the chance of its occurence) through the use of regular preventives.

These two diseases are both serious conditions that can lead to several clinical signs such as generalized weakness, pale mucus membranes,difficulty in breathing, bleeding from different orifices, coughing, ataxia and even death.

Heartworm preventives can be started as early as 8 weeks old according to American Heartworm Society while TICK AND FLEAS preventives as early as 7 to 8 weeks of age (depending on the preventives to be used).

PLEASE give your DOGS and CATS preventives to avoid them from having these diseases and to help them get PROTECTED
