While we dearly love all our perineal urethrostomy patients, Rio is by far the easiest and fastest post-op wound cleaning we ever had. 😀

**Perineal urethrostomy (PU) is a surgical procedure done in cats with chronic lower urinary tract disease. It involves widening of the urethral opening.

Some people and new clients often wonder why we sometimes cut-off consults as early as 12 nn. It’s because our afternoons (and evenings most of the time too) are devoted to our low-cost Kapon and other surgical procedures. Thanks for the mention The Cat House! Always a pleasure helping Puspins and Aspins!

9PM. Due to power outage, Doctor Wilford was forced to use phone lights during surgery. We’ve never seen a Veterinarian performed surgery despite stressful situation. They just kept calm and quiet until the surgery was done. Tinapos ni Doc lahat kahit pagod na siya🐈♥️ I love these hardworking, compassionate people!

Let’s help Cats of Legaspi Village raise some funds for the feeding and medical treatment of the feral cats of Makati CBD. The masks are now available at the clinic for P200 only. 🐈

Our favorite vet, Doc Wil, and his efficient clinic staff are wearing the COLV masks we have sent to the clinic. 🤩

Doc Wil has also offered to help us sell masks to help raise funds. 30 pcs are on sale at the clinic.

Cover cat in the hauz!

Look who dropped by for his vaccination and deworming, one of our neuter patients, Clarence! He also proudly shared with the staff that he will be the cover cat for the book “And God Also Made A Cat” by Victoria Costina, which will be launched on September 13 during the Manila International Book Fair!

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner, which means many may be planning their festivities for Monday night.

However, celebrations like New Year’s Eve can be stressful for pets, so the BC SPCA has several tips for helping to keep your furry companion safe and happy.

First of all, keep in mind that your pet may be disoriented and even display some out-of-character behavior including jumping, biting, scratching or hiding.

To help keep your pet safe, consider keeping them indoors throughout the evening. This will give them fewer opportunities to encounter loud noises. Another option is to even keep them in a separate room with a radio or television on. Be sure to leave them with lots of toys so they don’t see their isolation as punishment and make sure they get lots of exercise throughout the day first.

Of course, be sure to keep any festive treats out of a curious pet’s reach. Chocolate is particularly dangerous for both dogs and cats as it contains theobromine which is toxic for them. Don’t forget to make sure all alcohol and other drugs are out of your pet’s reach too. Alcohol can not only cause intoxication, it could also lead to a coma or death for a pet.

Keep decorations out of paws’ reach. Party horns, streamers and confetti can lead to serious medical issues – and a hefty vet bill – if ingested by a pet.

Back to work! Radio-ulnar fractures are pretty common cases in small breeds like toy poodles, poms, chihuahuas, yorkies, silkies and mini pins. Sometimes a miscalculated landing is all it takes to snap the bones. If you currently have these breeds as companion, better keep an eye on them.

Beware of buying pets online because scammers are abound. Sellers would pass off pups as healthy and vaccinated but when records are examined, vaccination are either done by the breeder, (forged vet signature and name stamp) or in this case, vaccine labels were scanned, cut, and stuck on a cheaply-printed "vaccination record" This poor pup is suffering from sarcoptic mange- treatable but a health problem not only for the animal but also for the owners.
