Six weeks ago, Peanut had no structure and no clear rules. If you held his leash, he decided where to go. He followed everyone around, never knowing how to just settle.

Six weeks later, he is a different dog.

Anyone in the family can walk him now. He stays calm, understands boundaries, and knows when to stay put. He didn’t change because he "matured, he changed because he was taught clearly and consistently.

TRAINING CLIP OF THE DAY: Marley 🐾

Marley is 7 months old and right in that young, curious Malinois stage. What you’re seeing here is steady progress, not forced obedience.

For young dogs like Marley, especially working breeds, foundation is everything. Short sessions. Clear communication. Consistent structure. Rest when needed. We guide, not overwhelm.

When a dog understands you and feels safe working with you, obedience becomes natural. at BPKnines, we believe that foundation matters most.

Adding a new dog to your pack sounds exciting… and it is.
But it’s also a big shift for everyone involved.

Before the cute photos and the “besties” moments, here are 3 things we always remind our clients:

1️⃣ Structure first.
Clear routines. Clear boundaries. Clear leadership. Dogs feel safer when they know what’s expected. Chaos creates tension. Structure creates peace.

2️⃣ Know your dog’s personality.
Not all dogs are instantly social butterflies. Some are confident. Some are territorial. Some are playful but sensitive. Understanding who your current dog is helps you set them up to coexist, not compete.

3️⃣ Adjustment takes time.
The new dog is adjusting. Your resident dog is adjusting. Even you are adjusting. Don’t rush the bond. Let it build naturally with guidance and supervision.

Adding a dog is not just “add to cart.”
It’s adding energy, dynamics, and responsibility to your home.

ANNOUNCEMENT‼️

Please note the updated schedule for Paws & Learn. To give way for Valentine’s Day and to better accommodate registrations, we have adjusted the class dates as follows:

• Practical Obedience Group Class: Pre-Teen & Adult Dogs (7 months and up)
New date: Saturday, February 28
Time: 3pm onwards

• Puppy Foundations Club: Puppies 3-6 months
New date: Sunday, March 1
Time: 3pm onwards
These changes allow us to prepare more focused sessions and welcome more participants.
