Holy 🚬 the man at the show was right, Poly has cracking knees, I could feel it. I'm fortunate as I've really learned to enjoy jumper land these past four or so years. I might have gotten smaller but we've increased in versatility.

A lesson on the Franklin Method 🤔

Holy 🐄, what a fascinating and revealing tool!

Peter and Cubby lessoned with the wonderful Brenda Kowal and used the Franklin balls to increase body awareness.

There are many ways to use the balls, and this session focused on Peter’s seat.

Here’s how -
➡️ place the balls under the seat bones unilaterally
➡️ the targeted unbalancing is intended to result in better mobility and improved unconscious balance
➡️ the result? - rider will be more aware of his crookedness, since before the brain has stored the incorrect position

Poly looking very sharp in his brand new pad & bonnet that strikingly matched, compliments of my better half :). He was the first of the team to strike in 2023. Poly laid down a nice clear in the first round and a more steady second round. And yes, sometimes you just have to bring along your FEI horse as an impromptu nanny. Thanks to HH for being super annoying which aided in the loading process home. Back at the 🚜 farm we fit a rehab hack in and a really nice flat 🏫 school from the bear before the storm struck.

Jump school on the young one this past weekend. Poly is realizing he does not have to throw himself into the canter or lunge at the jumps. 🤗 Plus, he really seems to enjoy verticals and oxers!

Plan for the winter - more jump shows.

Progress with Poly (pronounced “Polly”) 🤗

Poly made his debut several weeks ago at a Stable View schooling dressage show and didn’t miss a beat on his first outing. Peter and Poly explored the property and the covered arena, and this little guy took it all in stride. 🏇🏻

Today he made the trek with Peter to a lesson - the mirror surprised him, but he got over it quickly 🐴

More updates to come!

Good morning! The page has been dormant for a while, as Peter has been busy with the goings-on in the life.

Let’s kickstart the return of the page with a peek at what’s going on…🐎

Yes, there’s a new kid on the block in training!

08/21/2020

Looking for new training horses & students. Will also do travel rides. Great rates, located at a beautiful, versatile farm in the Aiken 302 corridor. Pm for more info :)

Breezing but humid day at stableview. Lots of activity. The Giannis horse Cubby was all class for his first xc trip. We stuck with tadpole fences & he enjoyed splashing in the water. Ottb Liam made for a great travel companion.

05/20/2020

It was sloppy in the sandbox today. However Cubby was undeterred by the elements & put in personal bests in both tests. A great attitude helped me make the most of today.

03/23/2020

Globetrotter zoomed around xc today in Aiken.

03/03/2020

The boys have had a quiet February doing some show jumping & schooling but will be back in action for Sporting Days III this week :))

12/22/2019

And 2019 horse rides are complete. Looking forward to Wisco, basketball & family!

12/17/2019

Reflecting on a long but busy season that might just have one more show left depending on weather. News flash, PA Eventing will be a regular participant in Aiken dressage! Some highlights: OTTB D.U.I. cemented his preferred role as a jumper netting just one single rail during the winter, spring, and fall seasons combined! The eventer, Making It (Harlem) made the move up to training level easily and finished the last 2019 event with a personal best at the level dressage score. Dressage guru Harmony K (Cubby) made his dressage debut at 1st level & won his first ever test!!! At his last 2019 show, he improved his 1st test by almost 6%. More to come in 2020. Be sure to contact Peter if you'd like anyone schooled or shown this winter. Happy Holidays :)
