How old can I start training my puppy?”
Short answer, immediately.
Wyatt is 9 weeks old and has been with us for one week tomorrow. His eye contact is consistently improving. He knows “sit”, “stay” and “bed”.
We harp that consistency is key. The proof is in the puppy 😉 see what we did there 😂

We love them just as much as you do when they stay with us 💚

In keeping with todays trend of some behind the scenes footage, check out the progresss our sweet Walter made while he was with us 🎥
This is Wally…the Tasmanian devil of a doodle 😅 came to us with some crazy bad habits. Jumping, pulling, not recognizing his name, chewing things in the house, barking nonstop, unable to walk on a leash, chasing cars…
It took some serious work on his part and ours but Walter went home after having gone through our basic on-leash obedience program and our advanced off-leash program.
6 weeks later Wally’s family couldn’t believe this well mannered, sweet soul was the same pup. We love it when our clients are impressed with their furry friend’s intelligence and drive 💚🐾

Fun fact: We love and spoil them just as much as you do when they’re here 😉💚

Ryker and I have spent a lot of time together working on his patience and treadmill skills. Why? 1) Winter is coming and, as we all know, the snow can be brutal and keep us from being able to walk our best friends. 2) Exercise is exercise…if I can’t get a walk in with him outside we will do it inside. Dogs. Need. Exercise. Both mental and physical to work mind and body and keep them from picking up destructive habits. Interested in getting similar training for your pup? Reach out! We would love to help you reach your training goals 💚. **please never leave your dog unattended…you should be right next to them while they walk in case of emergency**. #jamitrainsdogs #dogexercise #dogmovement #treadmilltraining #goldendoodle
Teaching patience and manners to a very large 1 year old German Shepherd mix.
Meet Duncan. He has been with us for 6 days and is here for a 3 week board and train.
Duncan is a rescue with a very big personality and no manners. That’s all going to change 😊

The leash death grip.
How many of you know it well?
Picture a hand white knuckling a messy ball of leash material wrapped in and around your hand.
It’s a habit we can get into when we attempt to control our dog using the leash because they won’t listen while on a walk.
That’s where the “heal” command comes in handy. The dog should stay right by my side, stop when I stop and I should be able to hold the leash comfortably.
Savannah’s family wants to be able to walk her safely. No running after people, cars or other animals which could put them in danger.
Using “heal”, she now has the patience to walk beautifully. She stops when her handler stops, looking up to see what the next command might be.

Excellent listening skills and patience are important even when you lose eye contact with or view from your pup.
We should be able to chase a toddler into the other room or go warm up our coffee for the 50th time and come back to a patient pooch waiting for their release word.
