Pintler Pets is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 humane society in Anaconda Montana.

While the shelter is still not officially open to the public (due to Covid), meet and greets can be scheduled after an application has been submitted and approved. Please visit https://www.pintlerpetsmt.org to view our adoptable pets and adoption application. Applications must be approved before adoption and Pintler Pets reserves the right to refuse any adoption. Adoption Fees*

*All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (including Rabies if old enough and kennel cough for dogs), dewormed, and microchipped.

5 months. 8 months. 12 months. 18 months. That is the amount of time that several of our canine residents have spent here with us in the shelter. And every week, we take in more animals.

These sweet souls, full of love and loyalty, have been overlooked time and time again. It's heart-wrenching to see them sit in their kennels, day after day, with no one showing interest.

They long for a warm bed, gentle pets, and the simple joys of being part of a family.

We know life can be busy and adopting a pet is a big decision, but the love and companionship a dog offers are immeasurable. They will be your walking buddy, your confidant, your best friend. They will greet you with joy every day, offering endless love and affection.

Please consider opening your heart and home to one of our amazing dogs. If you can't adopt, please share this message. Every share increases the chance of these wonderful dogs finding their forever families. Dodger is just the sweetest boy. He was fostered for 3 months and his foster mom says he is house-trained and gets along with other dogs and people, but has wanderlust. For this reason, he will need a high, secure fence. Dodger also views chickens as a tasty treat so he will need a home without chickens.

Duke was with Pintler for a couple of months before he was adopted. He was recently returned to the shelter because his adopter was having a surgery that would make it difficult to care for and maintain an active environment for him. Duke is highly engaged, walks well on a leash, and loves to hear "good boy" and will give you kisses until the cows come home.

Mocha is STILL here ❤️‍🩹💔 Mocha arrived at the shelter in 2022 and, despite a year passing with no interest, he was eventually noticed and adopted. His excitement was palpable, and his deserving nature was undeniable. Despite being a well-behaved dog, Mocha struggles with being left alone and has demonstrated a talent for escaping. Given his past in the shelter and the abundance of new experiences awaiting him, it's understandable.

Mocha is seeking a constant companion willing to embark on leashed explorations and help him improve his ability to stay close. A secure fence is essential to prevent him from venturing out on solo escapades. He does great in the house and in vehicles.

Whiskers is a shelter staff favorite with his sweet demeanor and beautiful coloring. This happy boy always has a smile and walks great on a leash. He has the potential to become an escape artist so he currently needs a kennel with a top to prevent any such adventures. He will need a home with a fully enclosed yard with a tall fence (at least 6ft). Whiskers is a quiet boy and despite the loud and busy shelter, he does not bark. Whiskers must go to a cat-free home.

Today we would like to introduce you to a very special, and beautiful pair of pups. Meet Hilo and Kona, 18-month old male white ACA German Shepherds. These two have been very well taken care of and have been very cherished members of their family but due to a change in circumstances, their owner can no longer keep them. Hilo and Kona have a strong bond and have spent their lives side-by-side so we would love to see them adopted together however it is not a requirement of adoption.

About:
- House trained and leash trained
- Great with other dogs AND kids
- Playful and love adventuring in the outdoors
- Neutered
- Have the first 2-year package at Amherst Veterinary in Butte so they are up to date on all vaccines and are chipped

$500/each adoption fee that includes:

Ashley is the last of our current puppies (Holly and Duke both found their forever homes!). We think she is just the cutest little fluffer and we dont quite understand how she hasn't been swooped up yet. Meet our Friday Features:

Albert: a true gentleman embodying his distinguished name with grace and charm. This big fella is not just about looks; he's incredibly smart and quick-witted. His alert nature makes him an excellent guardian, and his sweet disposition ensures he will captivate your heart. Whether it's a game of fetch in the backyard or a cozy cuddle on the couch, Albert is up for anything that involves spreading joy and love. A family with a spacious environment and a love for outdoor activities would be an ideal match.

Butters: This big girl is about 1 years old and is friendly, exuberant, trusting, walks terrifically on a leash, and has a very sweet disposition. Despite her size, she does not jump. She has dark brown eyes that look to you for guidance and shows her excitement, not by kisses, but by a very wiggly bum.

Miss Kitty: MK is a 6-year-old cat with a very affectionate nature. When you first meet her, she can get a little excited and has been known to swat people. However, once she gets to know you, she becomes a little lover. She gets along with some cats while being less friendly with others and for this reason, it may be best that she is the only cat in the household.

Lucky has been with us since October of 2023 and has not received a single application.

Lucky is navigating shelter life with a heart full of confusion and anxiety. He is a bit lost, a bit unsure, but undeniably hopeful. While Lucky is quite energetic and loud in his kennel (likely due to the stresses of the shelter life), he is a sweet and affectionate boy (swipe to get a glimpse of his affection) that would make the perfect companion for someone with a heart big enough to embrace his vivacity and give him a little reassurance.

Better together!

Our primary goal is to secure a loving home for both Manny and Nova. While adopting them together isn't mandatory, their deep connection significantly eases Nova's anxiety and enhances their well-being. As kennel mates, they provide each other with constant support and companionship. It would be truly heartwarming to see them find a forever home together. Adoption fees are sponsored for both Manny and Nova!

Manny is a brave soul who has faced some tough challenges but has come out stronger. After sustaining injuries to his back legs, this courageous boy underwent treatment and has shown remarkable resilience. He walks, runs, and plays with all the joy of a perfectly healthy dog. Manny’s spirit is unbreakable, and his affectionate nature will fill your home with love and inspiration.

Nova is a loving girl who wears her heart on her sleeve. She has developed some separation anxiety, which makes her a bit nervous when alone. However, she finds great comfort and confidence when Manny is by her side. Nova's sweet demeanor and need for companionship will make her a loyal and loving presence in her new home.

Nebula is a 4-year-old female Sphynx - hairless cat. She loves human companionship but has difficulty getting along with other cats. She has returned to Pintler Pets twice due to conflicts with other cats, including her own sister. Therefore, Nebula must be in an only-cat household. She is great with kids and dogs, making her a wonderful family pet in the right environment.

Serious inquiries only, please. We are requiring that applicants have some experience with Sphinx cats since they are high maintenance and require frequent baths. Nebula's adoption fee is $200.

If you are interested in adopting Nebula, please complete and submit an application and describe your experience with Sphinxes. Applications that don't include this will be ignored.

Anubis joined our shelter family in January 2024 after his previous owner could no longer care for him due to a change in living situations. He has had the unique opportunity to participate in a training program at the Montana Women's Prison, where he mastered commands like 'sit', 'shake', and 'down'—skills he loves to demonstrate! Anubis is not only intelligent but also stunningly beautiful. He's a large dog, so he will thrive best with a strong, confident handler who can continue guiding him. Anubis is quite independent and enjoys holding his leash in his mouth, playfully 'walking himself.' Each time he steps out, his excitement is palpable; he seems to be hoping for a reunion with his former family. ⛳️Get ready to putt your way through the best bars in town at our annual Putt-a-Thon event! Saturday, April 27th will be a day of fun, socializing, and mini-golf—all for a great cause. Gather your friends, form a team, and join us as we swing through 15 bars, each with its own mini-golf challenge.

All proceeds will benefit Pintler Pets so let's putt for pets and help them find their forever homes!

Entry fee is $60.00 per team, please mail entry form and fee to PINTLER PETS - PO Box 1204, Anaconda, MT 59711. You may also leave them at the bar at which you register or hand deliver to Pintler Pets. Entry forms must be received by April 24 - No Exceptions. No Refunds

A FREE FEED will be provided at the LOST MINE SALOON and cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, as well as the best holes created by the bars. Dinner starts at 5:00 p.m.

Happy Friday! Here is a peek of Emmett working hard on leash manners with our wonderful volunteer! He is eager to find a new home! Volunteers say that I’m sweet, smart, walks well on a leash, is exuberant (doesn’t realize how big he is), and is very loving. I’m about 4 years old and appear to be of Great Dane descent. *****I MUST be the only dog in the home and have to be leashed around other dogs. I don't know about kids, don't think I’d be good with cats (too interested, may chase them). I hope to be adopted soon, please help me find my home by sharing my story. Beautiful little Coco was adopted from Pintler Pets just about one year ago. We have some many beautiful, unique gorgeous kitties looking for loving homes. Proven fact that cats provide soothing emotional support while you are relaxing reading a book, watching television, or to simply have a friend to come home to after a long day.
