Molly is not amused by the melting snow. She prefers digging & rolling in the snow drifts. But inside, she has decided playing and general fun is what she likes. She has started finding small items, socks, hat and gloves, are fun to pick up and carry around. She has a fun little personality shining through. Vacuuming is not a chore she will take part in; that is much too loud for her liking. Normal, daily noises are not startling her as much, however.

Molly arrived last night and is settling in quickly. Spring seems to be her favorite season, because she can’t get enough of the outdoors today. She learned quickly that if she rings the bells at the back door, she gets to go outside. She’s already abusing it, but it speaks to how smart she is and how quickly she can learn just about anything.

Cayenne has been in foster care for 3 weeks now and it seems she is finally feeling comfortable enough to spend time in the living room. This is very exciting and we are so proud of the progress she is making.

Silly me - I thought the snow was too deep for Cayenne to get around in, so I shoveled a small area. She gets so excited about snow that she just plowed right through and forged her own trail. She is having so much fun figuring out what a dog’s life can be.

Cayenne has been fostering with us for just over 2 weeks and has made such positive progress. She is house trained for the most part and has been doing well in our (unfenced) backyard. Occasionally, I carry her outside without a leash and she sticks by my side, does her business and goes right back to the patio door when finished. If I walk around a bit, I just clap for her and she comes running back to me - always wagging her tail.
She spends most of the day in her soft side playpen that she can walk in and out of, and nights in her metal crate. Both areas have a dog bed and she sleeps either in the bed or right on the floor next to the bed. She doesn’t leave the kitchen which is where she is housed, and is never far from her playpen. The only time she really follows us around is when we are cooking; she gets excited (as any sous chef would) and wags her tail. Cayenne has free rein of the kitchen and living room and only manages going up steps, not down, which is why we have to carry her outside. She doesn’t come when you call her, but does know when you are talking to her and will start wagging her tail when we call her ‘good girl’.
She enjoys being pet and has no issue with hair trimming and ear cleaning. On her first day with us, she started playing with a stuffed animal and will periodically take a minute to play and chew on her toy and then take a little snooze. She walks well on a leash, but isn’t used to a lot of activity, so they are short walks - with more tail wagging.
We are currently working on getting Cayenne more used to spending time with people and trying to see if she can become comfortable on furniture; right now it makes her very nervous. Cayenne gets along with her foster sister (but they don’t interact much) and would be happy in a home with or without another dog.

Cayenne took very first ‘real’ walk today (on sidewalks). She is a very stationary pup and doesn’t stray far from her dog bed and (soft sided) day-crate; but she did a great job walking slowly and seemed enjoy it. We’ll venture out more this week and see how it goes.
She’s a sweet, friendly, quiet and easygoing pup that would love to find her forever home.

Today the sun is out and I’m feeling great! My mom is so proud of me, I scratched the patio door to go outside for the first time, she cleaned my ears and brushed me and I didn’t put up a fuss and then she was really excited that I walked into the living room to lay down with my foster people, also for the first time!
Now I am enjoying some well deserved sunshine.

Hi! This is Cayenne checking in. My foster mom took me out to walk on actual sidewalks today and it was interesting. I’m not too familiar with snow, but it was kind of fun to experience and I think I’m getting the hang of walking on a leash while I’m outside.
I really like being on my own in the house, dog beds are really my thing! I’m not used to spending time with people and I don’t understand why they want me to sit with them in chairs, but I do like to ‘help’ them when they are cooking in the kitchen; they say I’m under foot, but I like to keep an eye on things. My foster sister and I get along great, but she’s always sitting with her parents and loves being close to them.
TOYS! What wonderful things they are. I like to chew on them more than fetch them.
My mom says I’m doing a really good job in the house and always doing my ‘business’ outside.

Day 3 of Cayenne fostering in Appleton and this sweet girl loves her little kennel pod. She spends her days here until she gets more used to spending time with people.
She’s figured out the steps outside and is getting better at walking with a leash. She’s quiet and content and would be great as an only dog or a forever friend with your dog.

Cayenne is happy to be fostering in Appleton. She likes to venture in the snow and isn’t afraid to go in up to her belly. She navigates the patio door threshold, but needs time with stairs. She has fun with toys and enjoys her dog bed. She likes having a dog pal, but could be an only dog too it seems.

Cayenne is settling nicely into her new foster home. She took a little nap after the journey then peed outside like a good girl and then we figured out how much she enjoys dog toys.

Benny isn’t the biggest fan of cleaning day. She was more bothered with dusting than vacuuming which is odd. She’s really getting a hang of letting us know when she wants to go out. She goes in for her dental and alteration on Monday so we’ll see how she comes out on the other side. One things she can be sure of is lots of snuggles when we get home.

Beignet got a visit from my toddler grandson today and he reach down to touch her, and while he was told to move slowly and be careful, Benny didn’t even move. We could tell she was nervous, but both of them did a great job; that was huge for her.
Benny is getting better at taking treats too. She’s kind of picking on flavors, but she’s almost taking them from my hand.
She is not walking on a leash or taking stairs yet, but everyday is a new day.
