It is brutally cold outside right now...outdoor kitties try to stay warm, and if they don't have shelter, they can crawl up into car engines.

Before you start your car, please bang the hood, kick the tires and sound the horn. It just takes a minute and it could save a kitty's life.

FOUND CAT
This little guy was sitting at my front door tonight meowing. He's very friendly, came up to me and let me pick him up. He was found on Bartell Drive off of Prospect in Appleton near Xavier high school. Please share and contact me if anyone knows who he belongs too. Rescues are closed tomorrow so I will be bringing him in on Monday if his owners aren't found

Raffle Baskets! 🧺

Nails and Tails is raffleing two baskets, one dog and one cat. The proceeds will be split between Almost Home Kitty Rescue and 911 Dog Rescue.

The dog basket contains a $15 Nails and Tails Gift Certificate, an assortment of toys and treats and a few items donated from K-Dogs Pet Care including a shampoo, happy paws balm and dental antlers https://kdogs.net/

The cat basket also has a $15 Nails and Tails Gift Certificate and an assortment of toys and treats 🐈

🔹️Tickets are $1 per ticket, $10 for 12 tickets or $20 for 25 tickets

Tomorrow October 10th 911 Dog Rescue is having a fall fundraiser from 11-6. Nails and Tails will have a booth as well as be donating a basket you can win that will have Nails and Tails gift certificates and fun dog toys and treats! I will also be performing $5 nail trims and $10 microchipping from 1-4 with all proceeds going to the rescue. Bring your pups and kids for some fun! UPDATE!
Now that Nails and Tails will be doing claw capping, I want to let everyone know that I will be providing claw caps for all appointments that need claw capping done for their cats. No need to try and find some for your feline, I will bring them to you and it will be included in the claw capping charge!

I’m excited to announce that Nails and Tails is officially offering claw capping for cats! You may have seen this handsome boy, Matteo, modeling his off for us. Kimberley Rose

Claw capping is a great alternative to declawing. After trimming the nails, the caps are filled with an adhesive and placed over the nail. Once the nail grows back out and sheds, the cap falls off and we can replace them with more! They come in all sorts of fun colors and designs, just make sure to get the right size for your cat.

This handsome boy is a perfect example of a dog who needs a little extra time and work for his nail trims. Rex was terrified to have it done so we tried once and then came back and tried again. Fortunately the second trip we were able to trim him down a bit but we will keep working with him until we have a strategy that works for us and is comfortable for Rex ❤️

What if the nail trim, ear cleaning, etc. doesn’t work out???

That’s ok! If we are unable to perform the services scheduled for your pet, due to them being frightened, nervous or for whatever reason, we will stop for the day and you will NOT be charged for it. I will even come back with a different approach another time and we can try again!

Don’t forget Nails and Tails will do home services for trimming cats nails! 😻😻😻There are plenty of ways to prevent scratching without declawing and I would be more than happy to discuss any of these with pet parents wondering if they should declaw

QUICK TIP: what to do when your dogs nail is bleeding at home.

My friends were trying to cut their handsome husky’s nails at home and ended up accidentally going too far and hitting the quick, making the nail bleed. They couldn’t figure out how to make it stop so they called me to help. I went over to their house to get him all fixed up because they didn’t have any cornstarch. Now Apollo’s nails are all fixed up and look at how handsome he is!

Cornstarch is an easy at home fix for when you’re trying to do a nail trim and one starts bleeding

What a great visit with all these wonderful pups! George and June had their first Nails and Tails nail trims. I’m always so thrilled when pet parents are enjoying the silence instead of nails clicking on hard floors. Luna and Koda, who I have been working with for over a year, dodged the nail trims for today and just enjoyed the visit but I will see those two ladies shortly again for their mani pedis!
