Paisley is a TB owned by Mia Detzel. Paisley came in needing help all around (weight, ground work, all aspects of riding. Exc.) After a few short months of a full training board program with the Academy, this mare is surviving and thriving🧨
Picture here is on Paisley in her lesson today with .bruneau. This mare had minimal ground poll experience prior to her arrival.
The sky is the limit with this little team in the jumpers and we are here for it👐💙💓

This is Maeve! Isabella Safran and her family got Maeve in 2022. She was a hunter but had dressage training a long time ago. They had to find a new barn on a whim, called the Owner & Head Trainer of Atkinson Riding Academy, Crystal Little, and the Barn Manager, Becky Kruschwitz, picked them up the next morning. Maeve had very little muscle at the time, and her neck was slightly sunken in. Isabella felt she had no idea what kind of horse she was getting when she bought her; however, now, after training with Crystal, Isabella is proud to say that she’s never sat on a better trained animal. Everyday they get to work on different things together, and Isabella wouldn’t have it any other way!

Atkinson Riding Academy in Atkinson NH is hiring weekend help! What we need is one or 2 people for feed/turnout, outside waters and hay in paddocks, stalls cleaned, turning out horses and feed, and a point person to make sure the day goes smoothly.
Requirements include:
Horse experience
Hard worker(s)
Good attitude
Reliable transportation
Professional demeanor
Must enjoy working outside and be attentive to detail.

Her "maiden voyage" on her 4 year old quarter horse Aurora!!! This mare is beautifully sensitive and wonderfully sweet. Her trust is earned, not given, and she is a wonderful addition to farm! She was not an easy break; but it just made it that much sweeter ✨️ 💛
Huge shout out to for doing a fantastic job with this mare, implementing the plan, and trusting me with her life 🫠😶🙃 SO PROUD OF YOU BEAN!!!

Lookout for the signs of overheating horses—are their nostrils flaring, are they shaky, soaked in sweat, or hot to the touch?🥵

At Atkinson Riding Academy, we all look out for each other and each other’s horses, especially during heat waves. Our staff and boarders have been diligently keeping an eye on the horses for signs of distress, giving frequent hose-offs, and feeding soupy grain for hydration. We appreciate our ARA Team!🫶

We take horse care seriously and will stop at nothing to keep our horse family comfortable and drinking. Our boarding horses have been monitored closely and will/have been cold hosed 3x a day, are under fans, and indoors out of the sun until the heat breaks. Lessons were canceled and riding halted. Not to mention, watery grain given to promote hydration in every way possible. It's not an easy feat with 45 horses, and we can not thank our staff enough for their hard work. #
