Dead On Arrival Taxidermy

Dead On Arrival Taxidermy Artist, taxidermist, bone collector, with a forensic investigation background, who also snatched bodies for the coroner- so now it all makes sense. I was four.

I have loved and collected animals- dead or alive- for a very long time. I think my chemist father (Hook'em horns) rooted my passion for it as we traveled around Texas in the station wagon on family adventures. At rest stops, my father and I would examine the insect particulates on the grill of the Oldsmobile and discuss what they might be. My parents raised me to love animals, science and the art

s- so there you have it. I graduated with a fine arts degree from Parsons School of Design. Then throw into the mix, that I trained as a forensic attendant at the county coroner's office, worked as a field investigator for a major metropolitan crime lab, dabbled in Hollywood and aerospace stuff, I own Tim Riggins' house from "Friday Night Lights" (television show, not the movie) and was "Rookie of the Year" at the 2016 Weird Homes Tour. Oh, and rumor has it that I inspired a certain character on a certain television show when the writers came to the crime lab to observe. I collect the weird, medical, and the dead and tell about my adventures - especially my life in crime in my books- "Life in the Trenches: My Stories" and "Life in the Trenches: A Retrospective" special photo edition. You have to read my cow heads story. No one ever believes that it really happened.

Elmer McCurdy - Wikipedia

This is a great story... Read the whole story, it's worth it!

The intro: "An American bank and train robber who was killed in a shoot-out with police after robbing a Katy Train in Oklahoma in October 1911. Dubbed "The Bandit Who Wouldn't Give Up", his mummified body was first put on display at an Oklahoma funeral home and then became a fixture on the traveling carnival and sideshow circuit during the 1920s through the 1960s. After changing ownership several times, McCurdy's remains eventually wound up at The Pike amusement zone in Long Beach, California where they were discovered by a film crew and positively identified in December 1976."

I do taxidermy because animals are amazing and beautiful. I do not condone trophy hunting and will not do work on exotics. The small group of people that I choose to do taxidermy for are hunting for food. They respect the animals that they kill, only kill what they need to feed their families, and do not waste any part of the animal whose life they have taken.
