Maverick has been doing great at going out solo to check and fix fence!

It’s so much fun when a youngster we started returns for a tuneup! It really allows us to test our methods and see what may need adjusted. First ride back, a little rusty on a couple things, but she retained so much of her training! Loped off in a rope halter with a little kiss like no big deal.

Between the ears view of maverick out on the trails for a 3 hour ride after the heat dropped last evening. He also worked on leading, and crossing lots of water.

End of first month update on Abby. She came in with an unknown past, was very reactive to things, and really did not like the saddle. Starting to make some big progress these past couple weeks!

Maverick had his first ride today! Took lots of extra time to build his confidence for mounting, but so worth it for a quiet uneventful first ride!

Beautiful morning for a ride! A few clips of Ginger out on the trail, two more in the comment section.
For water crossings she struggles a little with the large ones, but only when she’s in the lead. She even ponied the extra horse on the way back, did great!

Zeus did some trail clearing today, and did well with the electric saw and moving trees! Additional saw video and a photo of him ponying another horse in the comments.

Gingers first time dragging, dallying, and stepping off was caught on camera! Putting all the pieces together. Also notice the few steps of side passing at the beginning. She’s been working hard on that, we will get a better video of it later!

Zeus had a fantastic trail ride today! First time hauling off sight. Was a little nervous in the camp, but once out on the trails he was all business and wanted to lead! More videos in the comments.

Miss Ginger has been working on slowing it down a bit. Before she’d want to go from walk to gallop, but this week she has really started learning the speed transitions and is super responsive to a stop!

Zeus has started trotting and loping this week. So far you have to keep encouraging with a kiss to keep him in a lope, but its slow and smooth!

30 mile an hour winds today plus a tarp that blows into the pasture made a perfect opportunity to work with Zeus! Definitely needs more experience with the tarp monsters to grow his confidence. He tends to jump on top of his handler if he gets scared, but each day he’s slowly getting better at thinking more versus reacting immediately.

Long day in the saddle for Athena. Over 6 hours of trail clearing. Got used to having the saw ran on or off of her, along with trimming/ nipping branches and weeds.

Faith leading on the trails. Brought her out with the slow gelding, so she had lots of practice with stopping and waiting for him to catch up. She also did great with following him, was able to slow down her walk and follow without tailgating him.

Nice young 4 year old, 15.2h gelding. Show him in the morning and trail ride him in the afternoon! Well started and been shown in open shows. Puppy dog personality. Loads, bathes, clips, stands all day at the trailer. Currently barefoot. Current on all vaccines and coggins. Has Pinto and NSBA papers. Mn 50/50 eligible.
