Our veterinary staff is here to provide advanced medical, surgical and reproductive care for individual animals, as well as entire herds or flocks. We accept referrals, as well as direct appointments from clients. Appointments are preferred to allow us to focus our attention to your animal, while minimizing your wait to be seen by a clinician. In addition, we also offer farm call or ambulatory ser

vices for your convenience. For emergency situations, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The LSU veterinary hospital is also staffed by additional specialists in anesthesiology, cardiology, ophthalmology, radiology, dermatology, oncology, theriogenology, and pathology. Our goal is to provide the highest quality service and care, thus we invite your constructive feedback so that we can make necessary improvements. Our primary concern is excellent health and productivity for your animals. If we can be of any assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact us. While questions are welcome via phone or electronic communication, we cannot definitively diagnose nor give specific recommendations without a thorough examination of your animal.

Hello everyone!!! Sorry for the looooong pause we are under construction in the Food animal area of the hospital but should be opening soon….Please stay tuned. However we are still seeing our small ruminant patients at the main hospital- our cattle patients are still off site at our brightside location hopefully just for another month or two

LSU will be closed Tuesday, January 16, due to the forecast of winter weather and icy conditions. The LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital will remain open for emergency cases. Clients are encouraged to call ahead before arriving for your emergency visit: 225-578-9600 for small animals and 225-578-9500 for large animals.
