We are very excited to announce we have been invited by our friends from Standard Title - Baton Rouge and Ann Matassa NMLS 357226- Movement Mortgage to hold an adoption and fundraising event at 9026 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, on Sun, 11/14, from 11am-3pm. We'll have jambalaya cooked onsite, grilled hot dogs with homemade chili, fresh baked goods--cookies, brownies, cupcakes, soft drinks, and sugary sweet confections from our favorite Cotton Candy Man! We will have door prizes, a photo booth for family pics so bring your pups, balloons for the kiddos, t-shirts, arts and crafts, and of course, we'll have the most adorable, ADOPTABLE dogs in town! A couple of our sister rescues, Cajun Tails Rescue and Must Luv Dogs Rescue, will join us and will have their precious pups looking for their forever homes too. We are also fortunate to have Mary with Cali’s Closet setting up her booth with creative designs, bandanas, dog clothes and more--for pets and their owners. We could use some volunteers to work if you're interested. It's lots of fun and so rewarding. But even if you're not available to volunteer, we hope to see you there! Please mark your calendars and plan to bring your kids and your pups with you for a wonderful day of good food and good fun for a great cause!

Our clients and staff are very important to us. We will continue to serve you but are making some changes for the upcoming weeks because of COVID-19. Following AVMA recommendations we are rescheduling elective procedures for next week. On the day of your appointment please complete paperwork outside under the cover or print the form at home. Only 2 clients at a time can be in the waiting room. We know this will increase check-in time but safety comes first. If you are ill or anyone in your family is ill please call to reschedule your appointment.

So many wonderful items have been donated for Second Chance Dog Rescue’s online auction. The auction will run through November 9, 2019 at 8pm CST. To place your bid, simply type the amount of your bid in the comment section below each photo of the item you’re interested in. Please carefully read each item’s description and the instructions about the opening bid, bid increments and “Win it Now” price. You can skip the entire bidding process by offering the “Win it Now” price!

We will post instructions for payment and pick up after the auction has closed. Pick up will be at Petco Acadian Village during our adoption events. Payment must be made within 48 hours after the auction ends and items are available for local pick up only in Baton Rouge, LA. Thank you for your support of Second Chance Dog Rescue!

We really need fosters for an influx of pups we have right now! We have all sizes, colors and ages! Even if it’s just for a couple of weeks we could really use 2 week temp fosters! You could spend your day cuddling something this sweet!

BRSN has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support its mission to control and reduce the stray population in Baton Rouge. The investment will help to fund the rescue efforts of groups like Companion Animal Alliance, Cat Haven, Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS), and other TNR programs (fixing feral cats). We are so appreciative of this generosity and look forward to continuing our mission. 🐱🐶
