If a picture does not have the location and date the pet was found then they were likely reunited with their family! Please check which album the picture is in. All of our unclaimed pets are in the “Unclaimed Angels” folder.

Well everyone, we have officially entered a new year. The full Road Pet count for 2022 was 149. most of those are likely strays but for the ones that were loved and reunited with their families it was all worth it. This year we will hopefully be getting our official 501c3 and then we’ll be able to start accepting donations! Thank you everyone who have directed us to pets on the road. Without you guys, we wouldn’t be able to help nearly so many.

On another note, it’s time for a new name theme. We’re still finishing up the Harry Potter crew but we don’t have enough diverse names left to match every critter that comes to us. If you have any ideas please comment 😊

Let’s all hope for a much lower number of Road Pets this year!

Should you raise an indoor or an outdoor cat? A recent study is clear: Letting cats out is bad for the health of birds, wildlife, the cats, and their owners.

Ok folks I unfortunately have another incredibly sad story for you. This is Strong John. A HUGE beautiful bully breed. John wasn’t hit by a car like most of the Road Pets. No, John was shot in the back of the head 4 times. He was then put in a trash bag and dumped on a random street in Flint. The odds of ever finding his killers are slim but we will never stop trying until we get justice for Strong John.

WARNING ⚠️ GRAPHIC IMAGES

Most of you that follow Road Pets know that the usual cause of death is by vehicles. Sad but usually not intentional or malicious. Occasionally, we get something far more sinister.
Meet Val and Ellis. Two young pups that never got a real chance at life. Their bodies were dumped in a parking lot in Flint, MI on 7/20/2022. We were notified about them on 7/23/2022. In all of that time no one had done anything about them! They just left two corpses sitting out in a parking lot as people drove by, uncaring. Thankfully one Good Samaritan did a video of the scene and posted in to Facebook in an effort to get some help.
Myself and Bill Heatley of StreetHearts went to the scene, documented what we could, and finally removed the poor dogs. From what we can gather, it looks as though someone probably left the dogs behind in the crate wherever they had been living. The dogs then starved to death. We assume it was whoever the owners of the property hired to clean the place out that found the dogs bodies and proceeded to dump them (and other articles of trash) in said parking lot.
These were both YOUNG beautiful dogs that deserved so much more.. we NEED people to step forward if they know anything, that’s the only way these criminals will be brought to justice. Someone knows something so please, if you see this, come forward. These innocent creatures need your help. We need to prevent further suffering at the hands of the twisted individuals that abandoned Val and Ellis.

We had particularly special Road Pet join our little family recently. Chief Hopper is a male, domestic rabbit. We are really hoping that he has a family looking for him and that he wasn’t just let loose 😞 he was found in Burton.
