It's taken me a little over five hours to process today. I ask every dog owner to please hug your pups tight. My dogs are thankfully okay but some one out there is mourning tonight. I am BEGGING please double check your doors are shut. Make sure their collars are tight, gates are closed and leashed held. Last week I grabbed a loose dog and knocked on doors until I found his home, he was safe because I had a pocket full of hot dogs I never got close enough to pet him or touch him but how many people travel with hotdog in their pockets. Today at 55 mph I barely missed the dog in the road but the car behind me wasn't as fortunate. His name was Scooby and he was just shy of his second birthday he was a rescue and according to the owner the best dog she ever had. PLEASE if your dog doesn't have 200% solid recall and fences don't let them out don't let them off leash. Unfortunately the owner today had no idea how he got out she had no idea that he was out I watched her heart break and her kids cry. I watched his last breaths. A lost dog isn't just lost they are in danger. Please make sure they are safe you are their guardians please don't let them down. Be the caregiver you signed up to be and keep them safe.
