We're off to the Semi Finals of the 2019 NCHA Open Futurity, and here are the stats for sires with 3 or more offspring entered. Hottish now takes the top spot in rankings sorted by percentage of 2016 foals making it to the semis. High Brow Cat is in second place followed by Dual Rey. The High Brow Cat colts Metallic Cat, Kit Kat Sugar and Thomas E Hughes are in close pursuit.
Apart from the sires listed here Purdy Boy Flash, Dealnwithacoolcat, Jazarell Cat and Little Jazzarey have sired offspring to make it to the semis, but have not been included in the stats, due to having only 1 or 2 offspring entered in the event.

Lots of great three year olds this year. 23 teams scored a 220 or higher in the Open 1st Go. The top 60 teams had a 218 or better which means the projected formula could be as high as a 434 if the cows stay as good as they have been. It's going to be some fun watching over the next few days as the cream starts to rise to the top!!

Well, Go-Round 1 is a wrap at the 2019 NCHA Open Futurity. And the stats show three deceased sires in High Brow Cat, Docs Stylish Oak and Dual Rey with the highest percentages of offspring from the 2016 foal crop advancing to the second round.
Boon Too Suen is in 4rth place, with Metallic Cat 5th, with an amazing 67 offspring advancing. Hottish, Light N Lena and Smooth As A Cat rounding off the stallion with more than 10% of their 2016 crop advancing.
Aussies Spud Sheehan, Guy Woods, Hayden Upton, John Mitchell, Sean Flynn Cutting Horses Ltd and fly-in Todd Graham all qualified with two horses for Go-Round 2.

Day 2 of the Futurity saw Gary Bellefant take the lead with an outstanding run on Metallic Rey Mink, by Metallic Cat. Having won the Open Futurity on Peptoboonsmal in 1995, it was an outstanding run to score 225.
Metallic Cat, Kit Kat Sugar and Hottish have 5 foals each in the top 25.
Spud Sheehan and John Mitchell are the Aussies in today's top 25

43 South Dakota farmers and ranchers have filed for bankruptcy in just the last two weeks! And what has our government been doing?
Are they ratifying Mexico, Canada, and America trade agreements?
Are they helping our president with the trade agreement with the Chinese?
Are they investigating why the Meat Packers are making $600 per head on the same cattle that our producers can’t make a living on?
No, they’re too damn busy trying to impeach our President!
Let me tell you something... if America wants to get rid of President Trump they'll do it in Nov. of 2020! So in the meantime, Congress, get off your asses and get things done for the American people and let this President do his job!
