A&A Reptile Rescue

A&A Reptile Rescue Hi! You've reached A&A Reptile Rescue! Our names are Ashtyn and Alyssa and we've been working with reptiles over 10 years!

Lucy was in brumation for about two months, which is similar to hibernation for reptiles. She was in and out of sleep and was not moving or eating or drinking. This is normal for bearded dragons especially during winter months. After moving all of the reptiles out to their tiny home, they lost track of the seasons and time of year with the slight change of temperature and humidity. She woke up and resumed her normal activity! She enjoyed a nice big salad, crickets and roaches and is back to being her cute, chunky self!

Whew! It’s been a couple of crazy weeks here at A&A, and we haven’t been active on here so a couple of updates!

EL CHAPO (which is now MIKE) got adopted! He is at his forever home, with a lovely family who is home all the time and always has him out! 💙

DEREK got adopted by a young lady who loves him just as much as we do! She is taking such good care of him and we couldn’t be more proud! 💛

MARY also got adopted, she was our MBD Leopard gecko, and couple who takes in reptiles decided she would be the best fit!💫

*REMEMBER* we still have a couple of lovely rescues up for adoption! Our Tokay Dino, and our young veiled Chameleon Yoshi! 🦎

Below are some pictures of el chapo and Derek with their new forever owners!💕

God Bless🙏🏼

Today was a BIG day for motley! Since we’ve got him he has been shedding in pieces, but tonight he finished his first FULL shed! 🐍 Make sure to give motley some love!💚

Lucy decided to pull a fast one over on Oliver by targeting his bed to use as a bathroom 😂 he was not too happy about it. Disclaimer: they get along and Oliver loves all of the reptiles and would never hurt them. Lucy doesn’t even get stressed out by him.

Picked up this lil guy today🐍 a community neighbor made the hard decision to surrender due to personal reasons. He’s going through shed now so we gave him a bath, and we are getting his enclosure set up!💚 We didn’t catch a name from the previous owners so..... Everyone meet Motley 🙃

This guy came to us very under weight, lethargic, and not willing to eat veggies. In the last month he has put on weight and now willingly eats his salads everyday. He still has a long way to go but he is already making so much progress. I will be posting before and after pictures here in the next few weeks. He is so much more energetic and bright eyed than when we first got him. 💕

Feeding time for all the leos. Derek loves his superworms.

Cabela was really focusing on getting the waxworm. She has graduated from her hospital bin and is getting stronger everyday!

All smiles from Derek after his dinner.

Lucy was enjoying her salad and got distracted by the sound of a truck driving by 😂

When we have so many reptiles to feed the cheapest way for us to keep up with them all is to breed our own feeders. These are hundreds of horn worm eggs that are starting to hatch! In the next few days we will see the tiny worms come out of their eggs and start to explore. I will post updates in a few days! We also breed superworms, mealworms, and waxworms as well. Crickets and dubia roaches will be coming next!

This 5 year old male bearded dragon is our newest addition. He is malnourished and has had improper lighting. He is not a fan of eating his veggies. He is starting to warm up to eating butternut squash smoothies. He is also getting plenty of crickets and superworms to fatten him up. Hopefully in a few weeks we will have some very satisfying before and after pictures as this guy improves and gains some weight. 💕
