So just a little background on how Dog Ear Designs came to be. Well, it all started because I follow way too many Dog rescue groups on Facebook. My husband laughs that I have more dogs than people on my FB feeds, but I’m ok with that. As we all know this summer of Covid was hard on everyone, human and animal alike. Every time I got on FB I was inundated with post from the rescues of these poor ani
mals and the atrocities they had endured. As a retired vet tech and having worked in the rescue field too I was not blind to the abuse and neglect out there. There was a rash of cases of a certain nature that I kept seeing. They were so horrifying, and I just couldn’t get them out of my head. What was done to these poor animals actually kept me up at night and put me in a depressive funk. I donated to the medical funds for many of these animals, but it just wasn’t enough. My husband said no to bringing anymore animals into the house at this point. I agreed, we have 3 large dogs, one who is very geriatric and a cat. So, I did a lot of praying and soul searching for a way that I could help. The answer came when I made a wooden dog bed to house an old couch cushion the dogs loved to lay on. I decided I could use my woodworking skills to earn money to donate to the medical funds of these abuse cases. I tested the waters with selling a few on FB marketplace and was successful. So now its time to put myself out there and see if I can make a difference. Blessing to all of you and thank you for your support.
