Dogo Fact #4:
Dogo Argentinos can have a life span of 9 to 15 years. Like any of God's creatures many factors play in. 10-12 years seems to be a reasonable expectation. But for a large breed canine its good to know they can be around a long time.

Dogo Fact #3:
AKC recognized the Dogo Argentino in 2020 as a Working Class breed. UKC recognized Dogos in 2001 as a Guardian Dog. AKC standards are slightly smaller than UKC, however both are representative of a bad-ass dog. For a non-b.s. history of the breed standard check out this article:

Dogo fun fact #2:
If you think a Dogo looks like other popular breeds its likely you are right. Dogo's are a combination of the Cordoba Fighting Dog (extinct), Great Dane, Pointer, Bull Terrier, Boxer, Bulldog, Pyrenean Mastiff, Irish Wolfhound and Spanish Mastiff. The influences physically and in temperment are easily identifiable.

Dogo Fun Fact #1:
In the beginning God created.... well, dogs, but not Dogo Argentinos specifically. Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez of Cordoba, a province of the Republic of Argentina, set the basis of the Dogo Argentino in 1928. I think God would be pleased!
