Had a good time this weekend with Anna Toomey. First I met her at her ranch on Friday in NC and we went to the Biltmore Castle which was definitely pretty awesome. Then went back to her ranch, got Candyman settled in there and ready for our dressage clinic Saturday with Natalya Gryson, a USDF Gold Medalist and FEI Trainer! She had many great things to say about candyman and the amount of potential he has. And that she’d love to see him compete at USDF shows and “kick all the warmbloods butts” 🤣🤣 she even said he has the potential to compete in the USDF Emerging Young Horse Program which was an awesome complement. We worked a lot on position and getting cleaner gaits at the trot and canter. Also worked on his lengthen trot and boy did we get some good lengthening!!
Now I’m back home and getting ready for Gypsy Congress!

A little late to the party, but here are the rest of the results from the East Coast Feathered Horse Show held in Lexington Virginia!
HSF Sapphires White Knight aka Candyman, owned by Kathy Robertson Edwards and Regina Carson did awesome with it being such a huge show!
The remaining classes that we competed in are:
Open English Pleasure WTC placing 2nd and 5th
Open English Equitation WTC placing 2nd unanimously under both judges!
Open Hunter Under Saddle placing 2nd and 4th
Open Western Pleasure WJL placing 2nd and 4th
Open Ranch Rail WJL placing 6th
Open Ranch Riding Pattern WJL placing 1st with a score of 81 😱 and 2nd with a score of 78!
I absolutely love this stallion. He’s a phenomenal boy that is more than happy to do anything that is asked of him!

I just love the sounds of hooves on concrete. And oddly enough, I love the sounds of the chains jingling rhythmically along with the hoof beats. Soo relaxing

Shout out to “HSF Sapphires White Knight” and his owners Kathy Robertson Edwards, Regina Carson, Brien Edwards for an amazing year together. This little stallion has proven himself time and time again that he is talented, willing, and more than capeable of competing right along side the big dogs and holding his own. This little horse and his owners have opened up more opportunities for me as a horse trainer to not only prove myself, but to also prove that with hard work and dedication you can achieve your goals.
This year Candyman has finished 12th in the nation for the GVHS in the Walk Trot/ Walk Jog Junior Horse division. He has achieved 2022 National Reserve Champion WT/WJ Junior Horse status in Trail Under Saddle. We have competed in musical freestyles, western pleasure, english pleasure, dressage, ranch horse, cow horse and even reining!
I absolutely love this young stallion and cannot wait to see what the future holds for us in 2023 🤩

To say I’m excited to have this beautiful girl back in training would be an understatement!
But I’m going to say it anyway, I am excited to start working with Cozy Pines Princess Tango again 🙂
Thank you Alan Johnson for entrusting me with Tango even though I’m far away from you now. I can’t wait to take her to Harriman TN at the end of this month to compete at the Feathered Horse Classic 🥰

We had a great time showing in the Feathered Horse classic at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala this past weekend! Took two young horses for some exposure and to compete among their own breed and both were fantastic for not being seasoned show horses and only now starting in their show career!

Glamour Girl also known as GG, owned by Mindy Davis, is a gypsy vanner mare who has been a brood mare up until recently. She has many foals on the ground and has recently started her under saddle training with me. This was her first under saddle show and she was fantastic!

We competed in:
Trail Under Saddle Walk Trot
Dressage suitability Walk Trot - placing 3rd
English Pleasure SR horse Walk Trot - placing 4th
Ranch Riding (patterned) Walk Jog - placing 4th
Ranch Pleasure Walk Jog
Western Pleasure SR horse Walk Jog

All of these classes were huge classes with the least populated one having 9 😯
This was a great show and a wonderful experience for GG! I am very excited to see how she improves through her show career 🥰

Stallions 4 and older - placing 6th of 12
North American Bred - 23 horses competed in this class 😳
English Pleasure JR horse Walk Trot - placing 2nd of 11 🥳

This past week has been a little crazy with the weather here in Mississippi not really knowing when it wants to do 🤣
Here is a recap from the past week. Last week we had 70* and sunny all week, then a storm blew in and got a couple inches of snow ❄️ plus 20* temps over the weekend. Now we are back into the 70s but it rained all day Tuesday which made for a sloppy ring today so the horses and I took a field trip to Marshall County Fairgrounds for some schooling in their indoor. So grateful for that arena to be so close 🤗

Hey everyone!
As many of you already know, or have heard from my amazing clients, I have officially uprooted myself and my business, Wolf Song Acres, and moved to Byhalia, Mississippi. Mindy Davis offered me the amazing opportunity to operate my training business and provide lesson and training services at her beautiful 60 acre farm, Bird Dog Stables. It's taken me a few weeks to get settled, and I'm now ready to announce that Wolf Song Acres is open and ready to take on clients in our new location. Don’t have a horse? No problem. We have several wonderful horses available for our lesson program, from beginner to advanced levels in English, western, and driving. Does your horse need a tune-up? We specialize in training traditional and western dressage, ranch riding, trail competitions, c**t starting, working with "problem horses," obstacles, desensitization and natural horsemanship.
