We were out with Bennie the mini mini Australian Shepherd (toy) working on building his social skills and gettin along with larger dogs. We came across his full sized counterpart and they hit it off right away.

"Training the owners" is a common saying and it is really a huge part of what I do. I work to help people read their dogs body language, how to react accordingly, and the best way to push the boundaries of their dogs behavior while still getting a positive outcome. This is different with every dog and every person and it keeps it very exciting. I have worked individually with all my clients in the photos building these skills, then we can all come together as a group and be on the same page. Most of these owners contacted me because they wanted to feel more comfortable taking their dogs into a social setting. I don't think anyone would guess that from the photos as everyone looks relaxed to me! @ Ventura County, California

Ready? Set? Sprint into my knee! I am not sure if it is a general pit bull thing but they don't seem to have the best spacial awareness. I cant count the amount of times I've seen pits crash into things.

Going on a pack walk is a fun way to build social skills and get dogs interacting in a positive way. All these dogs are up for adoption . If you are looking for a walking partner they are always looking for volunteers 😁

Can you believe Clyde the cute doodle mix was being used a junk yard guard dog? Poor guy was abandoned and left to fend for himself by himself. Luckily Bonnie rescued him and is determined to give him a good life. We've worked on thoroughly socializing him with other dogs, people, and integrating him into the family (which includes a guinea pig). Bonnie and Clyde are a great match for each-other!

The first photo is from our first meeting and the second photo is after a few weeks in a caring home. The way he carries himself has completely changed and he continues to become more of a social butterfly every-time I see him!

We are teaching Daisy the goldendoodle pup to have good social skills with a wide variety of dog personalities. My dogs are very helpful with teaching personal boundaries in the nicest way possible while still getting the message across. Next is finding her some dogs her own age and learning how to PLAAY

Bleu the little rescue pup was TERRIFIED of skateboards. We worked on teaching him that they are in fact not very scary and can be kind of fun! -your-fear

"We have been going through some dog training with Bentley. Bentley is very protective of the girls in our house. To the point he will attack other dogs for even moving around them. We were recommended to check out Tyler and he has been the help we need. He was always great with Bentley and understanding what triggered Bentley. He would even notice before Bentley did some times. We have been seeing Tyler for a couple months now. He is always very flexible with our busy schedules and has even came to our house to help lay down some very needed ground rules. Bentley still protects my girls, but now he does it without aggression. We can’t thank him enough for the time he has put into helping us."

One thing all these dogs have in common is a very large personality!

We are working on our dog social skills with our very diverse group. A little extra practice handling your dog in a busy social setting is the best way to spend an afternoon (in my opinion at least, ha!)

Melissa reached out to me for guidance with her two dogs Lucy and Linus (Charlie Brown!). She wants Linus the four month old Sheepadoodle puppy to start life with the right paw forward.
We are socializing Lucy and teaching her a friendly way to be - she is learning that she doesn't need to bark and lunge at other dogs. Melissa is doing a great job with all three of them!

Thank you to Paxton, Ari, Shula, Gunney, Ollie, and their humans for coming out to our meet-up on the beach! The dogs got to meet some new friends and we all got to work on our socialization skills. How can you not have fun when you are at the beach with a bunch of dogs?!

We have been helping Paxton the Rottweiler mix grow comfortable being out in public and around other dogs. Helping a dog work through anxiety issues takes time and commitment. This guy is lucky to have someone who cares for him very much. My dog Chata is helping with being a good calm influence, and got to go play in the ocean!

Linus the sheepadoodle puppy apparently found our training session very tiring. He took it easy for his post training snack. How cool is this sheepadoodle breed? I have worked with many doodle mixes in the past (labradoodle, goldendoodle, etc) but this is the first SHEEPadoodle. Very well natured!

In the past none of these doggies could stand being around another dog. By providing guidance from the owner, patience, and finding like minded dog owners - we were able to all have a great time at the beach for our August meet-up!

Our monthly meet-ups give people an opportunity to improve their dog's social behavior. When everyone is on the same page the people and dogs feel comfortable. I believe we had the best behaved group of dogs at the whole park, but I may be biased!

Rusty has been recently rescued and has learned that people like it when he sits, and he gets fun rewards for doing it. This is one of his ways he asks you to play with him. Impossible to resist!

They grow up so fast, from 4 months old to 10 months old. At only 10 months they still have a lot of growing to do, I'm not sure I'll be able to hold either of them for the next photo!

Data at the dog park. After getting to know him his name cracks me up. He was partially named after Data the android from Star trek. Everyone knows androids can't experience feelings, but his owner reached out to me because he has such a big personality! The android would be jealous

We are teaching these three to keep calm and not go crazy barking when guests are invited into the house. You can see the exact moment they lost composure 😂

An interesting little pack of dogs who we believe all have some Shepherd mixed in with them. All three of them seemed to have rather dominant personalities but had a great time playing together. It is cool to see the the similarities and also the differences of the other breeds mixed in.

Our July group training class has been a great experience - Training skills have improved, trust was developed, and the camaraderie is real! Thank you to all the people and dogs who joined us.
