Several of the therapy dogs of Van Zandt County were at one point in their lives... unwanted and tossed aside. A few were lucky enough to have started their life as puppies with their present handler. The others were rescued by various rescue groups, fostered then adopted by their present family/handler. Each have now found the "good" life! Now these dogs, have gone through the training necessary to become a registered therapy dog and share their special kind of love & gratitude to others. We as their handlers, simply stand and enjoy our therapy dog visits, witnessing a kind of joy only a dog can bring. It's very rewarding to be at the end of one of their leashes. The dogs bring smiles to those they visit and provide joy to their handlers as they do so. Our teams make visits to numerous Nursing & Assisted Living Homes thoughout our county, we have monthly meetings and hold fundraisers to raise money which helps to provide service animals to veterans. We often visit various school & public libraries for special reading programs as well. Those are pre-scheduled and appear as posts here on our page.
