Juniors had a blast at The Akron Zoo’s Wild Careers Day. They got to see behind the scenes of the lion and grizzly bear habitat, observe the training sessions of bears and gibbons, and hear what it takes to succeed in the zoo field from keepers, veterinarians, and colleges!

🐾🎃👻 The Paw-a-Thon is just 10 days away! Get your dog’s costume ready and join us for a fun-filled day to support Canton South Small Animal Science!

📅 Date: October 26
🕙 Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
📍 Location: Canton Township Community Park on Oyer Street

Bring your pup dressed in their best costume for a chance to win a basket full of goodies your pet will love! While you walk a mile, enjoy activities like face painting, pumpkin decorating, and FREE cookies and hot chocolate. Plus, there will be food trucks, music and a "paw-rific" basket raffle!

We’re asking for a $5 donation per dog to help support Canton South Small Animal Science. It’s going to be a fantastic community event, so don't miss out! See you there! 🐕🐾

🐾🎃👻Come one, come all to the 2nd annual Paw-a-Thon fundraiser, which will benefit Canton South Small Animal Science. The event will be held on October 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canton Township Community Park on Oyer Street.

Bring your pup dressed in a costume for a chance to win a basket filled with goodies your pet will love. While you walk a mile, stop and enjoy face painting, pumpkin decorating, and complimentary cookies and hot chocolate. There will also be food trucks and music!

We hope this is a fun community event and ask for a $5 donation per dog. Enjoy some fall festivities and help support Canton South Small Animal Science!

At Wild Careers, following an open house format, you will rotate through engaging sessions led by current zoo professionals, from veterinary experts to animal care specialists and educational leaders. All of this fun, exciting information right on zoo grounds. You will learn about everything from animal training techniques to keeper responsibilities and the types of college programs that will help get you there.
