"How Janow Podlaski Stud Came to Be"

Poland's horses have had to overcome many seemingly insurmountable odds, surviving numerous occupations, two world wars, and a constant shifting of borders. Despite all this, Poland was, and is, one of the world's most prominent breeders of Arabian horses.

Home to some of the oldest Arabian studs in Europe, Poland began importing Arabians in 1805. In the early 19th century, Poland was divided, ruled by Germany, Austria, and Russia. Czar Alexander saw a need for Arabians in the Russian cavalry and began a National Polish stud at Janow Podlaski in 1817. at the Kentucky Horse Park

A PHOENIX RISING
The Arabian Horse industry is in a period of change. Over the past decade we have lost ground to other breeds in our overall market share. Registrations have dwindled along with memberships, clubs, shows and events. We have a call for promotion and change. Let's look at the definition of promotion...
1) To further or encourage the progress or existence of something
2) To raise to a higher rank, status or degree.
Are we as a collective community acheiving this?
Have we become a entity that only strives to protect and advance one's own individual interests in lieu of lending helping hands to other owners, trainers and horses in need?
I am only one person and I understand the importance of a grass roots involvement such as AHA clubs.
In our Region 3 we are experiencing the beforementioned downward spiral. We have lost a couple major Class A shows and a few clubs are struggling with existence. One club in operation since 1988 (36 years) has closed and this year was officially dropped by AHA.
The CAL- NORTE ARABIAN HORSE ASSN Basically served Northern California from Chico, Marysville/ Yuba City, Grass Valley Woodland, Davis and Vacaville.
I was approached to help re-establish this club and facilitate it's rebirth.
And in a true project within the definition of Promotion I have accepted the challenge. I am working with AHA and laying a new foundation for the rising from the ashes club.
All for the love of the magnificent Arabian horse who needs us to survive.

As we converge this November at our Arabian Horse Industry's National Convention in Reno, NV a new chapter awaits to be written in Arabian lore based on resolulutions and focus on change...A huge responsibility is placed on the shoulders of voting delegates like myself to orchestrate the futue. I represent our local Arabian Horse Club (MLAHA), Region 3 and the Global Arabian Horse industry as a communitve whole and will always keep the love of Arabians first and foremost in my heart.

His oldest offspring are only 3 yrs.old and the only two shown have now been both Regional winners.

With talks of a reconstruction resolution of AHA and the Arabian Horse industry nothing and I mean nothing is going to change unless people get involved or re-involved with the love and compassion for the horse people like Karyn exemplify.....With the motto and campaign slogan used as "The Arabian Horse...the horse that loves you back" this video is an excellent example of what it's really all about people.
