Happy Independence Day to all! Thank you for your love and support. As we look forward to this victorious day some of our paw friends are not big fans of fireworks! Here are some helpful hints to aid in their comfort and safety.

Please give your pet a long early walk ( scared dogs should be leash walked even in the back yard) and fed early.

Make sure you pet collar is comfortably secured on their neck and has all the proper identification eg: Address and telephone number.

Sound training: On low volume .. play white noise or fireworks sounds in the back ground while giving a treat and or communicating with a clam positive energy.

Some dogs may chose flight (Escape route) as an option..they may also fear snap or bite if you approach them. ..don’t take it personally..it is a normal defensive when feeling cornered! Please make sure that they are in a secured unescapable room . Eg.Safe room or basement with no sharp objects ,glass or mirrors in their way. Keep large dogs away from windows and glass doors / sliding doors.

Keeping their harness and leash on in the room and car is recommended since they may run or escape to a location where you are unable to reach them eg: under bed or behind furniture or some may flight out of vehicle. Hiding in their home will be their (safe place) so let them be for a while.. it is a safety zone for them so just communicate with a calm tone offering treats..Please only keep their leashes on if your are there to supervise. Never leave their leases on unsupervised.

For your consideration: CBD oil, Lavender oils and Thunder vest. Calming oils can be used by putting a few drops in a soft cloth and allowing the aroma near you pets nose..you can also rub a few drops in you hands and pet their heads and chest. CBD oils needs to be used as recommended according to you product instructions. Please consult with your veterinarian when using any over the counter medications.
