Positive reinforcements uses praise and/or treats to reward your dog for doing something you want him to do. Because the reward makes him more likely to repeat the behavior, positive reinforcement is one of your most powerful tools for shaping or changing your dog's behavior.

We took a short break and now it’s time to start training again. We have a competition in late January. Our goal is to work on movement with his rear legs (essential skill for heeling and pivots). So I start with front leg targeting, get clean loops and then add in rear leg movement. Not bad for a first session 😜

4 aspects of stimulus control are: The behavior occurs immediate when the conditioned stimulus is given.
The behavior never occurs in the absence of the stimulus.
The behavior never occurs in response to some other stimulus.
No other behavior occurs in response to this stimulus.

Impulse control is a skill that needs to be taught. In this video guide dog in training Ranger is learning to ignore a low level distraction. The criteria for success is not leaving the platform.
