Today I lived one of my worst nightmares. I lost one of our beloved girls to a heart attack. Cpr, and driving faster then I should have didn't save her or her 7 little angels. The vet tried everything to help her out. My son gave cpr all the way to the vet. Really makes me question if I ever want to breed again. Our fur babies are our pets first and foremost. Heaven gained 8 angels today.
R.i.p Ellie and her babies. Til we meet again. I would have given anything to save you.

Blastomycosis//

Please be aware of your dogs symptoms. My parents 10 month old golden came down with lethargy and a sore leg last week. The vet said uti and strained ligament in the leg and were prescribed an antibiotic and sent on their way. 2 days later she is even worse. Swollen nodes all over, bursting vessels, extreme pain, and starting to pant. They went back to vet immediately. The vet agreed to then have a culture taken to see if it was fungal. These cultures can take days to have returned. My parents insisted they start meds now on her. 1 day later it was too late for their sweet 10 month old Lola. She passed away. Blastomycosis is every where but is considered “rare”..well it’s not so rare after all, and it’s increasing at alarmingly high rates. It can be deadly, if not caught and treated immediately. It will take your pup way to soon if you don’t get an immediate diagnoses.

PLEASE, if your dog is not being their normal self and your vet doesn’t have a clear indicator have them take the cultures immediately to test for blastomycosis. Watching a puppy run around 1 day and just days later having to bury them is so painful.

Be aware of blastomycosis and watch out for those symptoms in your dog as these cases are rapidly at a rise all over Wisconsin and in the Midwest.
