What a fun first week at Fluffy Butts Pet Spaw llc. It’s been so great to be back to grooming and seeing all the pups. I’m so grateful to see all the old and new faces. I love being able to offer my clients such a calm environment for their spa days.🖤

Hello! My name is Nattasha and I am a dog groomer at Fluffy Butts Pet Spa in Cedar Rapids, IA. 🐶

Surprise!

There’s been a change of plans and I am beyond excited for this opportunity. These women are extremely talented and I can’t wait to learn from them and grow my skill set. I’m thrilled to be able to offer my clients old and new a calm, quiet, positive, 1 on 1 experience. The new shop does mean there will be a price increase for most clients, this increase helps ensure quality products and high quality services.

We want to introduce everyone to Nattasha! Nattasha will be joining the Fluffy Butts fam bam starting next week! Nattasha has 3 years experience grooming furry friends of all sizes and breeds! We are so excited for her to join us and we know you all will adore her just as much as we do! Nattasha is such a compassionate girl, giving each pet the very best experience they could have.

We will be opening up our schedule to accommodate Nattasha. Spots are already limited since moving some things around. With that said, we are accepting NEW clients to add onto Nattasha’s schedule only. Please feel free to send your peeps and their pets to us! 🐾🐾

Yesterday I got to groom my first Giant Schnauzer! Moxie is a 7 month old giant schnauzer and we’re learning together! I can’t wait to continue practicing my skills with her and also helping her learn to love the grooming process. 🐾

🌈 I got to do something so fun today!! I’ve wanted to add some colorful spots to a dalmation for a long time! One of the daycare dogs was happy to model for me. 🐾

The best part? NO COMMITMENT! This color is completely temporary and one wash. 🧼

🖤Comfort Grooms🖤

What is a comfort groom?

🐾Well for different dogs it means different things. For Molly today, it meant that she has been perfect for grooming her whole life but she’s down to her last few weeks and grooming is really hard now. She can’t see or hear so the whole environment is scary and people moving around her with scissors means she moved around a lot. It also means that she’s unable to stand and has a lot of warts and sores to work around. So we went nice and slow and took molly down to a short length which is quite a difference from her normal look. She may not look perfect but she was comfortable and she left feeling better than when she came in. Then we laid on the floor snuggled up in a soft bed until her mom got there so she didn’t have to stay in a kennel which confused her without her sight.

🐾Sometimes we do a comfort groom when an older dog has a little bit more time but they have increasing grooming anxiety and move around a lot making it a safety risk for them. In this case we typically recommend a super short cut and schedule as needed every 4-6 months, even if they’ve been on a 6-8 week schedule their entire life.

🐾If your groomer brings up comfort grooming to you, it’s because they genuinely care about the physical and mental wellbeing of your dog. It’s not what we always want either, but sometimes you have to sacrifice that perfect round teddy bear cut for a happy and comfortable senior pup.
