Jumbo Cornish Cross Meat Birds are awesome. I want to thank the Gilbert High School Students and their instructor Casey Farnsworth for processing my meat chickens. They did a wonderful Job. These birds are awesome to east. Just check them out. We will be doing more in the next few months. From start to finish it took about 7 weeks for these birds to grow from baby chicks to 5 to 7 pound birds. Better than you can buy at Costco.....

SUNDAY THOUGHT----
Last evening when the day was done and we have moved the cattle, fed the animals collected the eggs, picked from the winter garden I couldn't help but have a sense of gratitude for the many blessings that God has so willingly and abundantly give me and my family.
Have we struggled in life, oh yes, have we been tried and tested, Oh yes, have we had health issues, oh yes, have we lost loved ones, oh yes, have we lost jobs, friends, animals, wealth, oh yes, but in the end the greatest blessing of all is the life we have lived.

What greater time could there be in the history of the world than when we are living right now. Is the world perfect? NO! but in that imperfection there is moments of perfection and blessing.
I cannot control the world, but I can control how I react to the problems and challenges that surround me. I have found the best way to deal with the challenges of life is to reflect on the good things in life. I have come to the conclusion that the sun does come up every single day and I can either complain about the clouds covering the sun or I can wait eagerly for the sun to shine through give me a glimpse of hope.
Amid the counting of blessing let us always remember to thank God for the blessings. He does hear and answer our prayers, he is as close as we let him be in our lives.
So as we survey the people in our lives may we always look over the faults and failings of others, reflect on the faults we have and thank God for his Grace that in spite of our imperfections the blessings still come.
One of the greatest gifts and blessings my Grand Father Ray Killian gave me was his ability to not be critical of others. When one would approach him and engage in a negative conversation about a third party, grand father only answer was this: "Oh so and so is an interesting person." He wold not engage in the demeaning of others nor the negativity of critical comments. That is a blessing I will count over and over again and at the same time give thanks to my Heavenly Father to bless my life with such a wonderful grand father.

In this great water debate in Arizona right now there are those who care less about agriculture. What they don't know is the 24 billion dollar impact Agriculture has on Arizona. The Yuma leafy Greens are a minimum of 2 billion dollar impact for Arizona.
Arizona has the best growing season of any state in the Union, please don't let the policy makers ruin Arizona Agriculture because of there ignorance. Why would we give up our ability to feed our people, our nation and the world. Are the policy makers in Arizona saying that the growing food is less of importance than building chips, phones and computers...? When was the last time you could eat a computer chip, phone or computer.
Preserving our Agriculture is a moral imperative. We can manage our water in a way that keeps agriculture in business and still allows for growth.
When the cities take on water conservation in a serious way then we can talk about agriculture use of water in Arizona. Lakes, Pools, pounds, grass lawns, all kinds of water intensive plants, trees ....
Last but not least is the Harquahala valley on the West side of Phoenix. There are 3 let me repeat 3 lake Meads worth of water under that land. Enough water to help solve central Arizona water needs for the next 400 years. That water was specifically exempt from the Water Transfer law in the 1980 ground water act. We don't need to import water from Mexico, we just need to drill deeper in Harquahala and you will have all the water you need. Oh by the way the CAP canal goes right through the Harquahala valley on the north end. Water can be conveyed into the CAP canal and delivered any where along the system.
Last but not least the farming community has been doing all kinds of things to reduce the consumption of water. Our best hope is that the new agriculture technology will lead us further down this path.
So do you want to depend on China, Brazil, Europe, Mexico, for your food supply??? I don't think so.

Well the wolves surely have arrived in the Pinedale /Claysprings area. Folks have been seeing them for the last few years. Two were seen walking across my pasture in Pinedale this last week. A number of my neighbors have seen them in the area and have heard them.
So the wolves have spread way out of the original wolf recovery area to the west, south, North and East. Just what the wolf recovery folks wanted. They are pushing to have over 750 wolves from Western Arizona to Eastern New Mexico.
In the mean time the financial losses to ranchers and farmers are mounting, thank goodness for the compensation board in Arizona, but that still does not cover the complete cost of the wolf program for those affected by their presence.
It is nice to think about the wolves running wild and free through the forest but if you are a hunter, rancher or citizen living around the wolves it is not fun nor is it good for the environment.
The impacts are real and devastating.
Here is a picture of one of the wolves eating a dead cow elk on the side of the road just 4 miles west of Pinedale road on the 260.
So be ready a wolf is coming to your area in the near future. Understand you cannot harm or disturb the wolves at any time for any reason because it is against the law. So we are left to figure out how to distract them from our herds, use range riders or in come cases Livestock guardian Dogs will keep the wolves away.
AGAIN I WANT TO STRESS YOU CANNOT HARM THESE WOLVES IT IS AGAINST THE LAW.
If you are concerned for your safety and the safety of your animals contact the Arizona Department of Agriculture, the Arizona Game and Fish Department and they can give you helpful hints on what to do and how to live in wolf country.
Welcome to the new rural America where APEX Predators take precedent over human beings and their way of life. Just ask the farmers in California about the Spike Dace fish, the Ranchers in Northern Colorado about the wolf program (These are timber wolves they are introducing to Colorado), Ranchers and farmers in Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Washington, Oregon about the Wolves, Grizzly Bears... Oh by the way if you have not heard the radical Environmentalist want to re-introduce the Grizzly Bear to the White Mountains in the Mt. Baldy wilderness area.......

It is in everyone's best interest to make this happen. The technology and science of agriculture is awesome, so let's hope the Universities and Land Grant Schools can help us solve this problem.

The Arizona National Livestock Show has a commercial Heifer and Bull sale this coming Friday the 29th of December. Lot's of good cattle to buy.

The reality of Biden's Economic policies are on full display every time I go to purchase some product or service. The inflation in now baked into all products and services. Even if inflation does come down the prices of goods and services most likely will not retreat. Yesterday Nancy and I were reminded in stark reality of just how much things cost.
As a child an ice cream cone at DQ would cost 10 cents, maybe 25 cents but yesterday when we (Broke my Diet) and went to DQ and purchased one small dipped cone (Chocolate) and one small plain cone (Vanilla) it was over $8.00 dollars. We looked at each other in disbelief. Eight bucks for two small ice cream cones...This is not a complaint against DQ, but a generalized complaint on where consumer prices have gone in the last 3 years.
As one can tell in this Christmas season, the prices of everything are way up. No wonder why young American families are struggling....The wage increases of the last few years are not keeping pace with the rising prices at the stores.
So what are the solutions to this problem.
1. Reduce taxes on everyone at all levels. Federal, State, county, School Districts, Cities. Add up all your taxes and it will take your breath away.
2. Reduce government spending on non-essential things
3. Reduce government regulation that adds to the cost of capital being put to work in the private sector
4. Reduce interest rates by the FED. It has never made any sense to me that to bring inflation under control you need to put people and businesses out of work and business by increasing costs of borrowing capital.
5 Give tax breaks to all levels of folks for saving.
6. Cap interest rates that Credit Card companies can charge on accounts.
7. Encourage the use of fossil fuels, we should also start a major effort to build nuclear power plants all over America.
This is not all the things we can do, but for a start this is what I would do....
Last but not least our country is being invaded by illegal aliens and they will break our economy. We are assuming the burdens of people who have come to this country illegally. They should be sent right back to where they came from. There is a process for folks to come into this country, you should not be able to just hop the fence and present yourself to be assimilated into our country. This Biden policy of open borders is a disaster.
If we do not change our economic policies the impact on most Americans will be negative and irreversible. I worry that my grand children will face an almost impossible dream of owning a home.
We need policies that accelerate deflation, encourage growth, savings and investment. I know we can't go back to a .10 cent ice cream cone, but really $8.00 for two small cones...
This cotton Picker today costs 1.2 million dollars. This is why farmers are having such a hard time these days....Cotton Average Price in 1976 was .71 cents a pound with the high at .92 cents a pound. On December the 2nd 2023 the Ave price of cotton on the board in Chicago was .78 Cents a pound. Tell me any other product that we produce in America that sells for the same price it did in the 1970's. Price a pickup lately? Priced Tractor lately? People want to know what is happening to the family farmers, why are so many going out of business...The difference between the price at the farm and what you pay at the retail level is a gap that if it is not corrected will spell the doom of family farms, or American Agriculture. Our freedom and security depend on our ability to feed ourselves...We lose that ability we lose our freedom.
